14th Annual Carbon County Fair will be a “Jam Session” with The Cramer Brothers, Brooke Unger, Joe Bonson & Coffee Run. Special attractions in the arena include Tuesday at 6 p.m. Garden Tractor Pull (by donation) and at 10:15 p.m. fireworks spectacular; Wednesday at 7 p.m. Demolition Derby featuring Figure 8 and Campers ($6 admission for everyone six years and older); Thursday at 7 p.m. Demolition Derby with compact Cars & School Busses ($6 for everyone 6 years and older); Friday at 7 p.m. Demolition Derby Full Size Cars ($6 for everyone 6 years and older); Saturday at 4 p.m. Antique Field Stock Tractor Pull ($2 general admission for all ages), Featured daily on the midway will be Farmer for a Day, Dapper Dan, Buster the Clown (5-8 p.m.) a Hit and Miss Engine display, and Smokey the Bear. Agricultural exhibit information is as follows. Monday, Aug. 5 still exhibits arrive 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; still exhibits judging begins at 7 p.m., 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 4-H livestock entries arrive, and 7 p.m. 4-H livestock weigh-in begins. Tuesday 10 a.m. 4-H & Open Dairy Goat, 4-H Market Goat, & 4-H & Open Market Breeding Goat, and 6:30 p.m. 4-H & Open Rabbit & Cavy judging begins. On Wednesday will be at 10 a.m. 4-H & Open
Breeding Beef, 4-H Market Steer & 4-H Dairy Beef and 2 p.m. 4-H Open Breeding Sheep & 4-H Market Lamb. Thursday at 10 a.m. is the 4-H Breeding & 4-H Market Swine, and 2 p.m. 4-H Animal Dress Up Contest. Friday at 9 a.m. is the 4-H & Open Poultry and 2 p.m. 4-H & Open Dairy Cattle. Saturday at 8:30 a.m. is the Horseshow, 11 a.m. 4-H Livestock Buyers’ Luncheon, and 1 p.m. 4-H Livestock Sale. The fairgrounds are located three miles east of the borough of Palmerton on Little Gap Road. From Danielsville go over the Blue Mountain and turn left unto Little Gap Road. From Allentown take Route145 North to Route 248 West; take Palmerton exit; through Palmerton – bear right unto Little Gap Road. From Stroudsburg take Route 209 North to Forest Inn Road (just past Country Junction), through Aquashicola - bear left onto Little Gap Road, fair is three miles on the right. There is free parking. There is an admission charge of $5 every day for everyone 6 years and older. Admission price includes musical and midway entertainment.
