Sunday’s winner will represent the Rocky Mountain Region at the National Grand Finals on the Met stage in March and compete for a $15,000 prize. A reception with hors d’oeuvres, wine and a performance by the Opera Colorado Young Artists will follow Sunday’s auditions in the lobby of the Opera House. Jan. 15, deadline for nominations. The American Red Cross will be celebrating 100 years of service in Colorado and Wyoming in 2014. As part of its Century Celebration, the Red Cross in Northern Colorado will honor community heroes at its Celebrating a Century of Community Heroes event on April 23. The Red Cross is seeking nominations of those who have performed heroic acts, saved lives or performed outstanding service to their country or community.
