Fall 2013: Look for our GAGA intro to TECH sessions. - THEME: iPads & Apps
Most of you already know that learning does not stop in the summer. Just as our students need to keep their skills sharp over summer break, so do teachers. Technology changes at such a rapid pace, it is good to be on the lookout for new and innovative ways to incorporate those changes into lesson plans. You can collect ideas on classroom management, organization, bulletin boards, etc. by creating your own professional learning network (PLN). Don’t forget that the IDEAS Room is always a great resource! Please feel free to discuss ideas with our team members or check out our Facebook & Twitter pages. Here are some other great free teaching resources to consider: TeachersFirst is a rich collection of web resources providing a practical, userfriendly, ad-free format.
PBS LearningMedia is the go-to destination for instant access to thousands of classroom-ready, digital resources.
Thinkfinity is the Verizon Foundation’s online PLN, providing curriculum enhancement and award-winning digital resources aligned with common core.
APP FOR THE SUMMER: Genius Scan If you have not discovered this great app, you must look into it. Genius Scan allows you to take a picture and then transform it into a PDF or jpeg. You can create single or multiple page documents. With this app you can email the newly created PDF straight from your phone or iPad!
