A solar home electricity with battery backup system typically consists of the following components. First, the solar panels that charge the batteries. Second, a battery bank into which electricity is stored. Third, an inverter that converts the electricity stored in batteries to the correct voltage required by the household. Finally, the system has either a manual or automatic change over switch that redirects the power supply from the grid to the inverter, as needed.
