Agility Solution Manual

This new version of the agility database, Agility Solution, is structured differently from previous versions. The new structure allows clubs to offer up to 7 days of trials in a cluster, with an unlimited number of events, rings, judges, and running orders. Because of the many options now available, some of the entry forms require additional steps to complete. In addition, the new format allows for more than one ongoing trial at a time. The designated Current Event ID is selected when opening the database or can be chosen from the Trial Information screen. All functions of the database will be restricted to the trial selected as the Current Event.

How To Run the Installation file -- AgilitySolution.msi Open this file. The database files will be copied to a new folder on your computer called Agility Solution. In addition, a shortcut icon will be placed on your desktop and in your Programs menu. In Windows XP and earlier, the folder will be created in your C:\Program Files folder. In VISTA, the folder will be created in your My Documents folder. NOTE: Windows VISTA requires a different installation file from earlier versions of Windows. Database Maintenance Menu Preferences Initial Confirmation - Set up for email confirmation that entry has been received. Email by Outlook requires that Outlook be set as the default email program on your computer (Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options - Programs). Email by Outlook Express is not affected by the default email program setting. Entry information will be in body of email and can be edited before sending. Entry information can be listed by Trial Day, then Class, or by Class, then Trial Day. You can also choose whether the database warns you if you have not sent an email to the exhibitor. Final Confirmation - Set up for email confirmation letters. The default font size is 8 pt. Large font size (10 pt) can be chosen if there are fewer than 4 trials. If the logo is included on the letter, the email process is much slower and the resulting file is larger. Catalog - Options are including the exhibitors' addresses with each entry, including breeder/sire/ dam information, and including space for moveups in the Scorekeeper's catalog. Armband - Select the armband numbering scheme for the database. Scoring - Set whether a monitor will be connected to the laptop to display the real time scoring. Edit Breed List This screen displays all breeds entered in the database. The breed abbreviation is used in reports where limited space is available for the breed name. AKC Groups - This button opens a screen that lists the letter prefix used in AKC Registration Numbers based on the breed group. This information is used to determine whether an entered AKC Registration Number is valid with respect to the letter prefix. You can add or edit the letters listed. Delete Finished Trial This button deletes the entry information from the database for a trial that has been closed out. It does not delete the trial information or the exhibitors or dogs entered. Relink /Restore Data File This button allows you to relink the AgilityData.mde file to the database. This function may be necessary if the files are moved to another folder or if you need to revert to a backup. Compact / Backup Database This function compacts and makes a backup copy of the AgilityData.mde file, the file that stores all your trial and entry information. Send Data File to Lab Tested Databases This function sends a copy of the database file to Lab Tested Databases for updating. The file is not compacted (zipped), so it will be fairly large.
