November Luncheon

Lamar Hunt Jr. motivated 127 members at our November monthly lunch. Mr. Hunt suggested that we read the book, “The Road Less Traveled. He noted three points from the book: 1. That we are not teaching ourselves to delay instant gratification, 2. Life is hard, and 3. No matter what the work is, there is dignity in it.

Past Chair Luncheon

15 Past Chairs of the Independence Chamber Board came in for lunch and to hear about the 2016 Chamber. Many had not been in the building for years.

The LEAD 2017 class day included visits and tours from half a dozen Independence Not for Profits. When the group visited Drumm Farm Center for Children, they got to see unusual sights and sounds. Note to you all: It is Brad Smith, Director of Drumm Farm giving the tour in the green house.

“I joined the Independence Chamber of Commerce shortly after moving to Independence because I wanted to meet other business people and I wanted to support my community. I found so many ways to get involved and enjoy the benefits of membership. I’ve grown my business and developed great friendship.” Can you identify the individuals in this picture?
