ust under three years ago, I walked into a crowded hall and crept to the back making sure I was as far away from the stage as possible. I didn’t even let the instructor know that I was new and had absolutely no idea what Zumba was let alone no idea of what was in store. Then the magic happened... I had my first taste of what an amazing and inspirational Zumba Instructor Rachel Evans is.... from that moment, I was totally hooked. I’m not going to say I instantly made lots of friends, because I didn’t, and that’s mainly down to me not having the confidence to speak to people I didn’t know and I continued to hide at the back relying on watching the people in front of me when I couldn’t see Rachel or Lucy Brooks her right hand man. But from that day, I fell in love with Zumba and Team Rachel... this family is different to any other exercise class I have ever been part of ... the room is always filled with joy and laughter and one common love. But then I met two amazing people, who have become not only my best friends, but my soul mates and sisters. With meeting these two girls, my life has changed they have given me a confidence I have never had before.... the confidence to welcome any new person coming into the class.... to chat and hopefully make them feel welcome and at ease, to enter the room and talk to anyone and everyone. I share so much with these two girls... I have shared secrets with them that I have held within myself for most of my life. I laugh with these girls and sometimes
I cry with these girls, but I know in my heart they will be in my life forever. We have been on holidays together and are about to embark on a two-week adventure to Thailand where we will make yet more memories to treasure forever. Along with these two girls, I have also formed very close friendships with many other Team Rachel family members, for Team Rachel is truly a family where, along with fitness, fun and laughter, caring is at the top of our common bond. I have shared an amazing trip away to Dublin with some of these amazing girls and will be sharing more times with them later this year. I consider myself totally blessed to be part of this amazing family... they have transformed my life. Often in life, you will have people cross your path, who are less than genuine and find delight in hurting others, and these people can do damage that they either are totally unaware of or at worst are aware of, but have no regard for the hurt they bestow on their fellow human being. However, the people I have in my life that I have met in Team Rachel totally restore my faith in human nature, and I know that I can go to so many of them and say I need your help and I know they will be there for me. These people have just given me one of the most magical years of my life.... these people are PURE GOLD. And I no longer hide at the back of the room, but am of at the front getting up to all kinds of mischief but mainly having the time of my life.
