This sixth edition of our Made in Italy Design Tour, following the highly successful and widely appreciated tours organized by the Chamber starting in 2006, promises to be the most exciting - and at the same time the most relaxing - tour to date! With the addition of the fabled island of Sardinia to the tour’s already impressive itinerary, you will have the opportunity of a restorative weekend of relaxation after days of busy tradeshow meetings, seminars, workshops and visits to manufacturers’ plants. The tour will offer you 2 days at one of the leading global design tradeshows: MARMOMACC in Verona for the natural stone sector or CERSAIE in Bologna for ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings. In addition, there will be 6 days of guided visits to showrooms and cutting edge production facilities of design sector companies in Veneto, Friuli and Sardinia, providing you with a unique insider’s view on the latest design trends throughout Italy. An inspiring environment, beautiful landscapes, extraordinary architecture and art, exciting exhibitions and new business opportunities, as well as educational seminars and conferences will be the ingredients of this unique and unforgettable experience. The Made in Italy Design Tour has been recently recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Trade as one of the most innovative and interesting promotional initiatives organized by the network of Italian Chambers of Commerce worldwide, and as such, has been granted government funding to make it an affordable yet unforgettable experience for Canadian interior designers and architects participating in the project.

Enjoy the experience of “Italian day and night life”: the tour includes a weekend in Sardinia where the delegation will spend four days uniting business and pleasure while discovering and exploring the beauty and culture of this fascinating territory.

You will discover Sardinia’s unspoiled natural treasures, including the island’s beautiful beaches with their bizarre rock formations and crystal turquoise water, and Sardinia’s ancient capital city, Cagliari, which encompasses several styles of architecture, from the Roman era through the Middle Ages and the Italian Renaissance to the Art Deco designs of the 1930s, as well as Fascist era neoclassic buildings.

You will also travel throughout the ancient cities and beautiful countryside of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia: two North Eastern Italian Regions famous for its Prosecco, Amarone and Pinot Grigio wines as well as mouthwatering food delicacies such as Prosciutto, Grana Padano, baccala’, polenta and risotto.
