Sport Swimming IBS students competed at the A.S.I.S.S.A. Swimming Carnival at Warringah Aquatic Centre: Matilda Marinoni, Olivia Piazza, Anthony Kyriazis, Hollie Newham, Isaac Natoli, Dane Lewis, Callum Robinson, Martina Comastri and Ethan Zagarella. Congratulations to Ethan Zagarella and Isaac Natoli who represented A.S.I.S.S.A. at the Combined Independent Schools Swimming Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Cross Country IBS students competed at the A.S.I.S.S.A. Cross Country at Queen’s Park. Congratulations to Martina Comastri (Year 6), Olivia Piazza (Year 2) and Isaac Natoli (Year 3) who progressed to the next level of Cross Country and represented A.S.S.I.S.A. at the Combined Independent Schools Cross Country Carnival held at Eastern Creek. Olivia Piazza competed in the 8/9 Years Girls 2km event, Martina Comastri competed in the 12/13 Years 3km event and Isaac Natoli in the Multi-Classification 2km event. All three students ran extremely well and achieved excellent results in their races, with Isaac Natoli winning a medal in his category. Athletics IBS students competed in the ASSISA Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to Martina Comastri (Year 6) who came second in the 800m and Isaac Natoli (Year 3) who won the 100m, 200m and Shot Putt – these students participated in the Combined Independent Schools Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to Isaac Natoli who completed some outstanding performances at the CIS Athletics carnival. Isaac received the Silver Medal in Shot Putt and set a new championship record for the CIS in his 100m and 200m sprints. Isaac went on to the PSSA and came 10th in the Shot Putt while achieving gold medals in the 100m and 200m sprints. Areas for 2011 Perugia 2011 Year 5 and 6 will be working throughout the year in collaboration with a school in Perugia. This involves integrating the school curriculum and attending the Italian school in September while utilising a range of technologies. Sport at IBS – 2011 IBS will be looking for greater participation in ASSISA Sport programs such as Soccer and Touch Football in weekly competitions throughout Term 2 and 3.
