Sin ir más lejos, dejaron de hacer pizzas y pan casero por la dificultad de encontrar una persona que lo gestionara con el nivel de calidad que exigen en todo lo que hacen. Si te acercas a disfrutar de esa grata experiencia que supone comer en La Taverna no puedes dejar de probar platos como su increíble ceviche, preparado de una forma muy particular con tomatitos secos sicilianos que elabora la madre de Tommy, una parmigiana que Dolly afirma que encanta incluso a quienes no son amantes de la berenjena, los tradicionales arancini sicilianos, o los platos elaborados con trufa fresca traída desde Italia, la nueva pasión culinaria de Tommy que presenta en preparaciones exquisitas como torteloni, fetuccini o huevos rotos. Als wir die beiden auf ihren großen Erfolg ansprechen und sie fragen, ob sie nicht auch einen Locationswechsel (etwas größer oder besser gelegen) in Betracht ziehen, bleiben Dolly und Tommy charmant bescheiden. Eine Vergrößerung wünschen sie nicht, die Kosten für Personal und Miete würden steigen und niemals, oder nur selten, fände man Mitarbeiter, die genauso viel Herzblut in Küche und Service stecken, wie die beiden es tun. So ist es auch bei Pizzen und Brot, ein komplizierter Vorgang, schwer jemanden zu finden, der das gleiche Niveau abliefert. Wenn Sie La Taverna besuchen, dann sollten Sie auf jeden Fall das unglaubliche Ceviche probieren, das mit getrockneten sizilianischen Tomaten von Tommys Großmutter verfeinert wird. Dolly empfiehlt auch die Parmigiana und schwört, damit auch Gäste zu verführen, die sonst keine Auberginen mögen, und die würzigen Arancini aus Sizilien. Tommys Trüffelgerichte sind bereits legendär, kombiniert mit hausgemachter Pasta wie Tortellini oder Fettuccini und über seinen cremigen Rühreiern sind die schwarzen und weißen Knollen aus Italien sein besonderer Favorit.
