What is a Virtual Learning Environment? •An additional teaching resource, that can be accessed from anywhere at anytime. •A Virtual Learning Environment like Moodle will expand the geographic and time constraints of Hopwood Hall College campuses and enhance the over all teaching capabilities of the college as a whole.

Staff Access to Moodle • From September 2007 all staff have a Moodle account •To access all new accounts login using this information •Login – your computer network username •Password – password

Student Access to Moodle •Student can access course areas by •Login in to Moodle (usernames and passwords are the same as the computer network) •Click on the 'All Courses' link under ‘Course categories’ on the left •Find the course in the list that then comes up and click on the course name •This will give access to the course, on the left click on the ‘Enrol me in this course’ link under the ‘Administration’ menu •A page then comes up ‘You are about to enrol yourself as a member of this course. Are you sure you wish to do this?’ click yes and the Moodle student set up is complete Ian Nield - VLE developer – iann@hopwood.ac.uk, ext 3342
