“Go!” That was the flashing sign I was looking for and waiting on; those two little letters. Go. I just knew that if I was meant to be on this trip, God would put that burning bush in front of me and I would have absolutely no doubt that I was supposed to go to Cambodia. How about that? I put a demand on God. “Give me that burning bush or else!” So I waited. And waited. And waited more. (not patiently though!)

The “waiting room” – the crowd outside the gates was much larger!

And then it hit me. How many signs had I already ignored? How many times did God talk to me for me just to not listen? (Specifically for me in this case, constantly hearing/singing/humming the song by Downhere, “Here I Am” Lord send me!) I can remember so many stories from other people on how they didn’t feel God was telling them to go on a specific mission trip, but they went because their spouse wanted them to go, or they felt obligated to the choir director, etc. and once there they knew that God had indeed called them personally but they had just not listened. My own story is not much different. I didn’t go to on my first mission trip to do God’s work. Oh no! I went to be with my daughter…to be a chaperone per se; not to reach out in His name. But when I got there, God opened my eyes and broke my heart for His lost children. Why should this be different? So I realized that I had ignored the most important “Go” sign there is… Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." – Matthew 28:18-20 Did you see it there? GO. It’s right there. It’s actually all over the Bible. Just a few chapters into Genesis all the way to Revelation. That’s the story of the Bible. GO! GO and make disciples of all nations. GO and tell them the good news of Jesus Christ. GO and bring glory to God our Father! GO!!! (insert the “Here’s your sign!” thought here!) So I’m “GO”-ing!! I’m honored to be part of a medical and support team from New Life Foursquare Church in Everett, Washington that will be traveling to Cambodia July 18 – August 1, 2009. Christopher was blessed to be part of the 2008 Cambodia Medical Mission team and has some amazing stories about how God used this team to bless the people of Cambodia and bring the news of Jesus Christ to this country. Last year’s team was able to treat 8,000+ people in the six days of the clinic. Every single patient was prayed over and told about the true Healer and dozens accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior because of this outreach! To God be the glory!

Lou prayed with every person who arrived at the clinic…all 8,000+!

It is Christopher’s and my desire to serve together this year and we are stepping out in faith to commit to this trip. Would you consider partnering with us in this venture? Our first request is for prayer. We know that every step of this journey must be covered in prayer. We alone are unable to do anything; it is only through God’s divine appointments, His grace and mercies that His plan is fulfilled. Please pray that we are obedient to His will for each of us in this trip and that we are blessed with discernment when trying to listen and understand His desires for us. Please pray for a spirit of humility as we discuss the trip with others so as never to take the glory, but to always point it to Him. Please pray for travel mercies and good health for the team. Please pray for our children and families while we are separated. Please pray for relationships to be strengthened and that we both grow -

not only as a couple, but also in who we are in and through Christ. Christopher has some major obstacles to overcome at work. He needs some shift trades/coverage to be able to go. The number of days is no different than the time away from work last year, but the situation is different, the staffing is different and it’s just as nervewracking and probably even more difficult to accomplish. Please pray that he is able to get coverage for the days off without much difficulty. God-size, expectant prayers – that’s what we’re praying! Secondly, if you are financially able to do so, would you also prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible donation to the trip? This is a huge hurdle for us. The trip alone costs $2900 per person. In addition, Christopher and I will be making flight arrangements to meet up with the team in Seattle so we can all travel together to Cambodia. We believe that God uses opportunities like this to grow us individually; to learn to truly trust Him with the “big things” as well as the little. To make a tax-deductible donation, please make the check payable to New Life Foursquare Church, include a note that the check is for Christopher and Deedra Everett (do not write our names on the check) and mail it to: New Life Foursquare Church Attn: Outreach Department 6830 Highland Drive Everett WA 98203 If you would like more information about the trip, would like to peruse through the 900+ pictures that Christopher took last year or hear some of the stories of God’s glory in Cambodia, please feel free to contact either one of us. Christopher’s email is christopher@everett-family.org ; Deedra’s email is DeedraEverett@aol.com. Several of the pictures are available on our Facebook and MySpace pages so feel free to check them out there as well. We are thankful for each of you and appreciate how you have touched our lives!

Blessings,

Christopher and Deedra Everett
