Volume 4 – Issue 1 of the IAFOR Journal of Asian Studies has three articles. The first paper examines the ethnic tensions in South Asian politics with a focus on the Sri Lankan context and the growth of political parties that have a narrow focus or ethnic interests; the second paper challenges perceptions of a preordained fabrication of history as a way of interpreting communism in China; and the final paper analytically examines the use of anonymous sources in political reporting in India and Pakistan.
