Go to the Serengeti on Milestone Road. • Best scallops in the world are Nantucket Bay scallops. Soooo sweet! • Can’t get here by a highway or a bridge. • Best beer is Whale’s Tale Pale Ale. • Cutest cobblestoned road is between Jefferson Avenue and Cliff Road. • Best place to see the stars - everywhere. • No coyotes yet, but we did get squirrels a few years ago! • Best place to watch the boats go by is at Brant Point or on the tip of Coatue. • Knowing how to say Siasconset the right way. • Best surf is at Cisco. • Find a welk egg case on the beach and open it. What a surprise you will get! • Best Nantucket dog - all of them! • Nantucket Nectars originated on Nantucket by Tom and Tom selling juices from a motor boat in the harbor to moored boats. • Best use of scallop shells - Christmas tree lights. • Knowing what ACK stands for. • Best time of year - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter! • Being an Islander and getting an “Excursion Rate” to go off-Island. • Best cobblestoned path is between Orange Street and Union Street. • Getting a Nantucket Beach Sticker on your car bumper. • Best way to pronounce scallops (SCOLL - UPS). • Hydrangeas have to be picked at “just the right time” to dry well! • Best thing to do during a Nor’easter - go see the surf. • No neon signs, no “golden arches” and no traffic lights.
Let us know what’s unique and special to you about Nantucket! (you may see it in print next year)
