It is a speedy variation of doubling and halving. It also simplifies multiplication if a number in the problem is a power of 2 (this can be 4, 8, 16 and so on). For each power of 2 that makes up a particular number, you can easily double the number. It requires an understanding of exponents along with command over the 2 times table. 4. Division


There are certain basic division tricks that you can keep in mind. If you divide anything with 10, the number is bound to end with a 0. A number can be divided with 6 if it is an even number and when the digits are added together, the answer becomes evenly divisible by 3. A number can also be evenly divided by 4 if it ends in 00 (or even a two digit number that can be divisible by 4).
