04 VORTEX The project is to design a primary school in Hulhumale’ which should have the capacity to cater 4000 students. The whole project is divided into 3 small projects: 1) Choose a transformation word and create a touch stone representing that word. 2) Design a site office on the site for the architect, 3) Design the primary school by in cooperating the site office and transforming it to part of the school. v The concept of this design was based on the transformation word twist. It is a centric design where the spaces in the school swirls around an attractive and unique elevator shaft. The class rooms are designed in such a way that it requires minimum observation. The diagrams above shows how the design was developed. The areas marked in red indicate classrooms and other spaces in the school. The final design consists of a unique set of classrooms and many outdoor spaces where the students can explore much more than your average school. The school was designed in such a way that the students can experience outdoor activities within the school. One such example is the mini artificial forest where students can explore the wild life like they have never done before
