EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY Daytona Beach, Florida

DEDICATION Forty-nine years ago two men had a dream. J. Paul Riddle and T. Higby Embry took a look at a twenty-three year old infant called Flight. Even though airplanes were in an early stage of development, these two men could visualize Aviation as developing into another transportation system and knew that many people would have to be trained. So in 1926, they opened Embry-Riddle as a Flight School at Lunken Airport, Cincinnati, Ohio. So to Embry-RiddleAeronautical University, we the PHOENIX staff dedicate this yearbook for 1975.

CAR NIVAL

s~onsoredby the Interfraternity Council was a success - despite a few hard moments. with the funds raised at the weekend bash, the IFC's president Jack Vandelaar presented a check to the local Heart Fund. Embry-Riddle is justly proud of its IFC and of the supporting fraternities which make the contributions of the IFC possible. -

ALPHA ETA RHO President ............................... BRYAN PURDUM Vice-Pres. .....................................BOB HARRIS Secretary ..................................MIKE GILFORD Treasurer .............................DEAN SUNDERLIN Historian .......................................RON FISHER Advisor ..........................................U S LEWIS With the intent of promoting aviation amongst the public, as well as the students, Alpha Eta Rho has participated in a wide range of public service and aviation oriented programs to further this goal. In 1972, Alpha Eta Rho organized and sponsored the first Embry-Riddle NlFA competition flying team, which has won every regional meet since and has participated in two national meets. The team is made up of Embry-Riddle students, chosen through intermural fly offs held each September. Team members are selected according to flying and safety skills, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. It is through the NlFA competition, and thespirit of community good will that Alpha Eta Rho hopes to forward its goal of "Promoting Aviation" as a useful and valuable tool to society.
