For my first-year design project we developed and designed a Condohotel for our client “Woodbridge Group”. They wanted travelers to feel comfortable in an elegant background. The Condo-hotel is in an urban center and will offer easy access to the airport but is quietly located off the main thoroughfares. The Edge Hotel has a modern sophisticated design. It feels effortless throughout the upholstery and furniture selected. Throughout the hotel there is feature lighting, adding a industrial feel to the space. For each floor this hotel has 1 two bedroom, 3 one bedroom and 2 barrier free suites along with a cafe, offices, business center and washrooms for public use. Bubble diagrams were drawn to help organize each room in the Hotel, then I completed my final floor plans for the suites. The following hand drawings are perspectives of the bedroom, bathroom, lobby seating area and reception desk for the hotel and individual suites.

BUBBLE DIAGRAMS LOOSE PLAN MOOD BOARD FINAL ELEVATION RENDERINGS FINAL PERSPECTIVE RENDERINGS For my second-year design project a partnership of advertising professionals was forming a new company and consolidating its team. They wanted their work environment to convey the cutting-edge spirit of their team. They are a young, energetic, and eclectic (multi-national and cross generational) team with ages ranging from 20 to 45. They described their office philosophy as trendy, hip and modern. A corporate image that will convey their innovative and dynamic company to entice new clients and provide a stimulating work environment for their staff. Systems furniture was mainly used throughout the space and tied in seamlessly to the concept of the firm. The following renderings covey a concept of high energy and collaboration. I incorporated pops of color and prints to the walls and added an industrial touch with showing exposed brick and concrete. I located the open office and collaboration spaces by the windows to let natural light in and bring people to work together. I wanted this work environment to be motivating and a place you enjoy coming to everyday.

PLAN DEVELOPMENT

MOOD BOARD RENDERED FLOOR PLAN FINAL ELEVATION RENDERINGS This design project was a collaboration between three team members: Infrastructure & Transportation Alberta (INFTRA), NAIT IDT Students and a health care related Client. The clinics will be an innovative, consolidated, integrated multidisciplinary, family centered facility. Our goal was to create an internationally recognized Centre of Excellence in Pediatric Ambulatory Care. The clinic will provide service to children ages 0 to 17 years of age, and their families “Children First” and family centered care will be evident throughout all elements of planning, design and operations. I was in a group of 5 and we all collaborated in each design decision equally. I had the task of developing and designing the small and large consultation rooms. They required desks, sinks, storage and modular seating arrangements. My group came up with a mood board showcasing the concept we want to bring to the Children’s Ambulatory Clinic. We used a lot of green and blue for the overall color palette and wanted this environment to be calming and comfortable for everyone who enters.

MOBILE

In my second year for design, myself and a partner were tasked with creating a Cell Phone Kiosk that would be in the Cross Iron Mills Outlet Shopping Mall. We did research on other kiosks to get information and details on what we should or should not incorporate. We made a license approval and then a final drawing approval. Presenting our final perspective renderings of the front and the back of the kiosk.

CROSSIRON

We chose materials that suited our concept of earthy and modern. We used a brown, green and white color palette, and chose Leaf Mobile as our kiosk name. We worked together creating a kiosk that has easy access MILLS KIOSK for staff and customers. Both incorporating privacy along with well shown advertising.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS MOOD BOARD FINAL FLOOR PLAN RENDERING FINAL ELEVATION RENDERINGS FINAL PERSPECTIVE RENDERINGS This project was an exercise that covers the design process from planning, to the final design presentation and construction documents. It was a retrofit project which accommodated an existing school building’s main floor being renovated into a Community Center. The Community Center will be for the unmet community demands of activities and programs such as dance, music and art. The Wildrose Community Center was designed to provide a welcoming environment for everyone who enters. The concept word for this project was self expression. I picked this word because I wanted to develop a space where all ages of life could come and enjoy them selves. I designed many colorful and writable walls to ensure creativity and collaboration, along with choosing furniture that is comfortable for everyone. This was my first time creating an entire project that I completed with designing the community center first and then putting everything into construction documents after.

For my second-year construction documents class, we completed drawings for The Branch Energy Company which was an office space. We first created the floor plan, adding demountable walls and workstations. Then drew a reflected ceiling plan, finished floor plan, elevations, and sections for all CORRIDOR required millwork and doors. We later submitted an addendum for sign-age STAIR OFFICE to be added near the receptionINTERNAL desk. The following Construction documents are some of the plans, elevations and sections that I have created for Branch Energy, along with past projects that I accomplished first year.

RESTAURANT PROJECT

HDP

WINTER 2018 TERM 2 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROGRAMS USED: - Revit - Photoshop

PLAN DEVELOPMENT REVIT

The following construction documents and renderings were made in my second year Revit class. We got to design a restaurant of our choice. I started off by designing the kitchen and staff room and then moved on to decorating the columns inside the restaurant and the feature wall outside of the washrooms. I developed a floor plan and reflected ceiling plan with sections to show where I had my feature ceilings located. We were taught how to apply different materials and create extrusions. There is a bar, main dining area, and reception area for visitors to wait. I created this restaurant to be chic, comfortable and tropical. A place people will talk about and want to go visit. My color palette was made of pink, blue and yellow throughout the restaurant, with pops of color and the main walls were white brick. This restaurant is very bright and trendy. Perfect for a date or a night out with family and friends.
