r. David P. Young is a general dentist at his practice in Kingston, NJ. He’s had a desire to practice dentistry ever since high school and was inspired to become a dentist by a distant cousin. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Young’s advanced training and immense knowledge ensure that he gives every patient the best care possible. To provide exceptional services, Dr. Young utilizes photos, x-rays, intraoral cameras, and a 3D CT scanner to educate patients and show them what’s going on with their oral health. Although he is a general dentist, Dr. Young considers his office to be a onestop shop for smiles by offering cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry as well. His modern dental techniques and advanced technologies allow his patients to get more procedures completed in fewer visits and ensure that they have peace of mind.
Are you using any new technology in your office? Technology is a key component to contemporary dentistry. One of the newest additions to my practice has been the implementation of CT scans/3D imaging. This equipment allows me to diagnose many infections that could not be done using traditional 2D x-rays. Also, I find it quite beneficial to utilize the CT scan prior to performing implant surgery since I have the ability to view the mouth in 3D. What’s in store for you and your practice? The best way I prepare for the future is to enroll in advanced education courses. The opportunity to speak with clinical leaders as well as sharing ideas with colleagues allows me to bring new concepts and skills to my practice, and thus the patient benefits. As we prepare to move into 2016, I’ve already enrolled in numerous advanced education programs. I look forward to sharing new knowledge with patients. What are the most important qualities that a patient should look for when choosing a dentist? Selecting a dentist, or any health professional, requires some effort on the patient’s part. Ask questions. You’ll be able to sense if the dentist wants to take the time to properly inform and educate you.
