George J. Schmidt, Jr., DMD, FAGD How do you ensure specialized care for your patients? We put patients at ease with our low-key, family-like atmosphere. We strive to make them feel like they are indeed family. What sets us apart is the caring and compassionate way we deliver comprehensive treatment at our brandnew, state-of-the-art dental facility. Our patients are very loyal to us. Even if they leave the area, they return for treatment. They come from everywhere between Arizona and Florida and even as far away as Sydney, Australia. Above all else, we love making patients smile! I get great satisfaction from providing quality care to my patients and helping each one in their own unique way. r. George J. Schmidt, Jr. has been practicing general dentistry at the Advanced Dental Center of Cedar Knolls since 1998. His exceptional skills have earned him induction into the OKU (the National Dental Honor Society) and the prestigious status of Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. His skills surpassing simple dentistry, Dr. Schmidt also has training in Botox treatments and dermal fillers, and is a member of the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics. Currently, Dr. Schmidt resides as a clinical instructor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and is an attending dentist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Because of Dr. Schmidt’s immense knowledge of dentistry and his friendly professional manner, it’s not surprising that patients come back even after relocating to different states and countries.

Are you using any new technology in your office? We have CEREC single-visit crowns and restorations, digital x-rays and surgical placement and restoration of dental implants from start to finish. I believe it is beneficial to our patients because they are able to get more done in one visit. What’s in store for you and your practice? Currently, I have over 1,200 hours of post-graduate education. This includes advanced training in bone grafting and the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, which I received at a three-year continuum at NYU. I would like to continue to learn and work on more challenging cases. What are the most important qualities that a patient should look for when choosing a dentist? The most important qualities I would say to look for in a dentist are compassion, honesty, character, perseverance, a strong work ethic and the willingness to go the extra mile to help his or her patients and others.
