Eugene A. Isola, III, DDS Describe the patient-doctor relationship at your practice. I treat everyone as I would want to be treated myself. This is a “character value” that I learned early on in my life. It was instilled in me as one of my family values. I practice this in my private life as well as my professional life. This is the key to maintaining any relationship.

f anyone knows dentistry, it’s Dr. Eugene A. Isola, III. Dentistry runs in his veins, as both his grandfather and father were established dentists. Wanting to carry on the family tradition, Dr. Isola embarked on his dentistry journey to New York University’s Dental School and, after graduation, established his own practice in Old Bridge, NJ. As a third-generation dentist, Dr. Isola knows what patients want and need. “I am able to listen and understand what a patient is trying to say, and make sure they know that I am here to serve them,” he says. Dr. Isola is a member of numerous dental associations, teaches at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and is an on-staff member at the Raritan Bay Medical Center. Dr. Isola is proud to say that both of his sons will be following in the “Isola” footsteps when it comes to a profession, and will join him at his practice upon their graduation.
What’s in store for you and your practice in the future? This year represents 80 years that my family has been in the dental business. My grandfather became a dentist in 1935, my father graduated from NYU in 1965, and I graduated NYU in 1986. My middle son is currently a freshman at NYU Dental and my youngest son is pre-dental at Penn State. Once they join me at my practice, they will make certain that there are four generations of Dr. Isolas having treated our communities. We are honored and privileged to serve these communities and look forward to many more years. How do you ensure specialized care for your patients? I keep myself continually educated by attending lectures, conferences and courses. I also teach at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. My staff is highly trained and is comprised of all genuinely kind and compassionate people, which is something you cannot teach. Specialized care starts with compassion. I think this is the most critical factor to guarantee that patients are getting the exact, unique treatment each case may need. What are the most important qualities that a patient should look for when choosing a dentist? In this day and age, customer service is of the utmost importance. People want individualized attention paired with caring and knowledgeable choices. This starts with good communication. A successful outcome for all of our patients is our goal.
