What is the most common misconception among your patients regarding dental care? Families often believe that since baby teeth will eventually fall out, it’s not important to care for them. This is far from true. Ignoring treatment on baby teeth can lead to pain, dental infection, orthodontic problems, damage to the adult teeth and even systemic health issues. Often, chronic tooth pain in children falls under the radar because children deal with it as they would bumps and bruises. Without a doubt, this type of chronic pain can seriously hurt a child’s performance at school, and reduce his or her overall quality of life.

Describe the patient-doctor relationship at your practice. We provide a friendly atmosphere that breaks from the traditional setting. My staff and I are “friends” who listen to each child that comes to visit rather than intimidating and imposing authority figures. To the parents, we are a team. Our practice believes that the parents are an integral part of the decision-making process. While we provide the best care possible to each child, the discussion and decision-making process is always a joint, transparent and informed effort between doctor and parent. Please highlight any unique services that your practice offers its patients. Gallery of Little Smiles provides quiet treatment rooms, which allows anxious children to receive care with the privacy that some patients may need. Each room is equipped with child-friendly toys, interactive dental tools and a chairside TV. Quiet rooms are essential for optimal care of children with unique needs such as ADHD or autism.
