Managing Seasonal Allergies If you suffer from seasonal allergies, limit early morning outdoor activities when pollen is usually emitted. Stay indoors as much as possible when the humidity and pollen counts are high. Changing your clothes and taking a shower after being outdoors, especially before bed, can decrease allergens such as pollen that collect on clothing and hair. Close windows at night to help keep pollen out. Running an air filtering system may help remove pollen and other allergens from the home. Talk with your pharmacist about over-the-counter antihistamines, decongestants, nasal sprays and eye drops that help relieve symptoms.
