NAMI of Central Nebraska Are you struggling with MENTAL HEALTH issues of a family member or yourself? NAMI is a volunteer organization providing education, advocacy resources, and mutual support to empower anyone whose life has been touched by mental illness. NAMI of Central Nebraska is an affiliate of NAMI Nebraska and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. ACTIVITIES: HOPE SUPPORT GROUP is for persons with depression, bipolar and other mental illnesses and/or their family members or mentors. HOPE meets each Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in the east wing of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3315 11th Avenue, Kearney. We provide a Caring place to discuss the problems of living with mental illness and working toward recovery. We offer educational meetings on topics including Social Security, medications, local resources, healthy living and fighting stigma. FAMILY TO FAMILY Classes meet twice yearly. Members learn about coping strategies, communication techniques and what resources are available.
