I was born and raised in Nebraska, and received my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Baylor University. I am married and live in Kearney with my wife, two daughters and two dogs. I strongly believe in a partnership, both in collaborating with my clients' primary care providers and psychiatric prescribers as well as my clients themselves. Though I have much to offer from my training, expertise and own life experience, I truly believe that your own inner strength and selfknowledge are the keys to wellness. I prefer to conceptualize your case in view of not only your presenting issue, but other factors including your physical and spiritual health, your social environment and any underlying mental illness and/or substance use present. I am very interested in working with adults and adolescents with a wide variety of problems. In particular, I enjoy working with men and men's issues, couples (whether yours is a troubled relationship or you simply seek to enhance your relationship), and with complex or difficult cases. I am trained in the use of clinical hypnosis as a tool to help with issues such as pain management, ego strengthening, relaxation, behavioral change, trauma issues and more. Also, I have specialized training in Dual Disorders. A Dual Disorder is one in which the client is struggling with both substance abuse issues and mental illness. Not only do I believe in directness and honesty in the therapeutic process, I consider discretion and confidentiality to be of utmost importance, and can make specific arrangements to insure your privacy to a higher standard if necessary. Most insurance is accepted and filed for you.
