Arshad Ali, MD Interventional Cardiology
The interventional cardiovascular program at Great Plains will provide comprehensive care to West Central Nebraska patients with disorders of the circulatory system, utilizing heart catheterization, stents and other procedures. The state-of-the-art technology at Great Plains along with the cardiovascular team will provide high quality cardiology care for patients close to home.

Dr. Arshad Ali will begin practicing at the medical center July 11. He will lead the medical centerâ€™s efforts in implementing a 24/7 interventional cardiology program. Dr. Ali has 12 years of experience in cardiovascular disease and coronary and peripheral interventions. He comes to GPRMC from Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky, where he has served as a staff cardiologist. Dr. Ali also has acted as Associate Medical Director of the Kentucky Heart Foundation, a research arm of Kings Daughters Medical Center. He is among the first cardiologists to treat patients with the Impella LP2.5 heart assist device. Dr. Ali is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan, completed his internal medicine residency in 1994 at the State University of New York, Buffalo, and in 1997 completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, La. Dr. Ali completed a second fellowship in coronary and peripheral intervention in 1998 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Mich., where later he worked as Director of Cardiovascular Research.
