BUFFALO COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
Each year the final event for the Buffalo County Fair is the 4-H Livestock Auction. There are many volunteers who put in long hours to make this event a success, by doing everything from setting up panels to soliciting buyers. One of the highlights of the auction is the presentation of the most outstanding volunteer. On Tuesday, August 9th, Roger Wolford will be recognized for his many years volunteering at the 4-H Livestock auction. Without dedication and hard work like his, this event could not be a success. “Roger Wolford has been involved in the Buffalo County 4-H livestock sale committee for decades.” says committee chair Ron Horst. “He has served as chairman of the committee and also helps with many behind the scenes tasks. Roger is always willing to help and I consider him a “corner-
post”, as you can count on him. Thanks Roger for your service to the 4-H youth.” Along with volunteering for the 4-H Livestock Auction, Roger has volunteered on the Wells Fargo Advisory Board for over 18 years. Roger has also served on the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Board, and has also been very involved with Gateway. He served as Gateway’s Chairman in 1999. The 4-H Livestock Auction is sponsored by the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce. The annual event is the culmination of many months of hard work by the 4-H youth in Buffalo County. Businesses interested in purchasing 4-H livestock should contact Jennie Nollette at the Chamber. Thank you Roger for all your hard work!

Hilltop Mall, managed by Dial Properties Co. of Omaha, is Central Nebraska’s premier enclosed regional shopping center. Conveniently located on North 2nd Avenue in Kearney, Hilltop Mall has been a member of the community for 27 years. During that time, Hilltop Mall’s commitment to the Kearney area community has remained consistent and strong. Since opening in November, 1984, with Wal-Mart and Herberger’s as the center’s anchor stores, Hilltop Mall has seen many changes and expansions. Today, Hilltop Mall is home to 40 great businesses – including JCPenney and Old Navy - and is over 97% occupied. Hilltop Mall's stability reflects the character and support of the people of Kearney and surrounding retail trade area. How many parents have taken a child to see Santa at the Mall?
