Beth and Kelly Murphy When Beth and Kelly Murphy set out to build a new home, they started by doing their homework, gathering information from friends and strangers alike. The Murphys polled friends who had built new homes, as well as homebuilders featured in past editions of Trends, to get as much advice as possible before determining the design of their new home. After considering all of the valuable tips offered up to them, the Murphys drew out a floorplan for a new home with more space and greater energy efficiency, and then they put their plan into action. With the enlisted help of Kearney contractor Gene Knaggs, the Murphys broke ground at 12840 Iron Horse Road in Kearney in June of 2010 and by January of 2011 their new home was move-in ready.
