Crane Viewing & Tours You Can Take Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary For the very best viewing of Sandhill Cranes, special guided trips to viewing blinds are available from 5:30am-8am and 5:30am-8pm. daily. $25 per person. Overnight crane experience photo blinds are also available. These blinds hold a maximum of 2 people. Cost $150 per night. Call 308-468-5282 for more information and reservations. Days/Hours Open March 5 thru April 10 - 8am to 5:30pm daily Fort Kearny State Historical Park Visitors Center Crane Watch Self Guided Tours Maps are available for these self-guided tours of the scenic Platte River and wetlands. Stop by the Fort Kearny State Historical Park before starting your tour. Representatives from the Game & Parks Commission are on hand to answer questions about migration, the cranes, and can direct you to viewing areas. A twenty minute slide presentation is shown. A valid State Park Permit is required. Days/Hours Open Mar. 4 - April 11 - Open daily 9 am-5 pm Fort Kearny Recreation Area Hike-Bike Trail Bridge Sunrise/Sunset Viewing View the cranes navigating the Platte River from the Hike-Bike Trail Bridge at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area just before sunrise and sunset. For more information call 308-865-5305. A valid State Park Permit is required. Day pass $4 per vehicle. Yearly $20 Days/Hours Mar. 4 - April 11 - Open daily Rivers & Wildlife Celebration Experience the millennium migration at the 40th Annual Convention. The celebration hosts field trips, speakers, educational programs and exciting adventures for the entire family. For reservations call 402-797-2301.
