Shading of Stolen Times to evoke a Reminiscing of Youthful Memories

Umbrella House

Long ago, there was a group of good friends who were playing here. They came here routinely every Saturday. However, one day somehow they dispersed. Somehow everyone was busy with his own activities, and the number of people meet up become fewer and fewer, let alone just to play a game of basketball, this was how they slowly dispersed.

SHADING in the 72 library: A place to store the stolen time where people get to express the inner thoughts about the youthful memories and record down as a life journal for the self. And to make wishes for one's future.

Definition of the LIBRARY: Ma

The library acts as a stock house, storing books about experience and history. People use the library as a space for them to study, research, and reading, so they can gain knowledge and skills for their own benefits.

LAB

Restoring community and awareness

Singapore is facing an aging population. Social isolation is one of the most common issues found in an aging community where the aged isolate themselves. This co-programming proposal attempts to engage the aged and youth-at-risk. The RE LAB encourages the aged and youths to share their creativity and skills in up-cycling products through the help of eco-designers. These designers in turn benefit subsidized rental rates. The designer products are exhibited and sold in Re Lab. This tripartite alliance creates job oppurtunities and community engagement. The RE LAB relocates AWWA Senior Activity centre, Youth Guidance Outreach and ECO-designers to rejuvenate the under-utilised. Team member: Brandon Loh, Huang Jianmin, Rachel Won and Teng YingShi

GREEN CONCERTO Our vision is to enhance Buona Vista’s current social connections and history based contextual emergence by interweaving the rhythm of the locality within an urban diversity. Green Concerto promotes communal urban farming, tapping in sustainable resources and deepen demographic linkages between the e xisting communities. Our first plan is to retain existing surrounding greens of the Rail Corridor. The design then develops as elevated linkages between major entrances from Holland Drive and Biopolis. These park-linkages resemble music score lines, serving existing inhabitants with wide pedestrian walkways, bridges that connects direct accesses from the exterior to the interiors of all blocks, bike lanes and ramps with universal design features. Park-linkages are expanded into 4 residential buildings, 3 business centered blocks, 1 shopping mall, 6 mixed-used developments, 2 multi-storey carparks, 3 urban farms: aquaponics, and a solar powered bike park along the Rail Corridor. These seamless park-linkages also function as a vessel intersection for the vertical farming to provide pedestrians from Buona Vista MRT interchange a chance to buy natural and sustainable food resources at the doorstep: The Interlude Piazza of the Green Concerto. To reflect drastically-diversed rhythmic condition, buildings’ forms are dictated by the urban patterns of both Biopolis and Holland Drive, showcasing a language that is already spoken within the neighborhood, making Green Concerto the rhythm that beats BuonaVista’s identity.

The World

Library of D A I L Y L I F E Pleasant desolation is overlooking the budget freedom and embracing by the divine Separation STORY The library of Daily Life is a space for visitors to read and fathom ever changing stories produced by mysterious anonymous writers. The books are based on the daily occurrences and observations that transpire within the levels in the block. Readers immerse in new stories every day as they are constantly changed in reference to what takes place in the block. In the midst of the reading, visitors are disturbed by the haphazardly formed staircases in the library.
