靜白的生活-最不起眼的屏東白洋蔥,有一種最純淨 最樸質的生命力,每天都在自己的土地上舞動著。 A clear and white life- The Pingtung-grwon white onions, though least eye-catching, have the purest and simplest vitality as they dance on their soil everyday.


那美好的童年-粉粉嫩嫩的有如嬰孩的臉。 The wonderful childhood-Flush and tender like a baby’s face.

是虛 是實-我看見我自己 False or true- I see myself


一樣質樸-屏東的紫洋蔥有著百變的面貌,這會兒,他 古樸得像木質地板。 Equally simple-The Pintung-produced purple onion has various looks. This time, it is so old and simple, looking like wood floor.


古典的情感-現代凋落在古典裡,比不上千年 的蜂蠟印章,仍可在發霉中透亮。 A classic emotion-The modern is fading in the classic. the beewax stamp still glitters in molds.

宇宙中-如果沒有駐足台東,便沒有此刻,透過光、透 過葉,見到天,無窮無盡的蒼天 。 In the universe-Hand not stayed in Taitung, I would not have captured the moment. Through the light and the leaves, I saw the sky, a relentless sky.


修行路-人生如葉,平凡、不平凡都在心田。 The road of spiritual practice-Life is like a leave and the heart is where the ordinary and the extraordinary are.

靈靜平安 1--回家系列 原創構想

媒材:木質夾板、壓克力顏料 我是漢人,在地球繞了大半圈之後,發現台灣最珍貴之一是 原住民文化。長期以來,原住民文化沒被尊重,但是他們卻 是台灣非常重要的資產;於是我選擇家家戶戶都會用來裝潢 的不起眼的夾板當作畫布,代表-它不起眼,但卻非常重要 ;它不被尊重,但我們很需要它,來構築我心目中台灣的1 4族原住民。 14族族群皆用「眼睛」貫穿,每一族都有「眼睛」,它代 表-祖靈,而大家都敬畏祖靈、都受到祖靈的庇佑。

I am a Han Chinese. After traveling to many places of the world, I found that one of Taiwan’s most precious things is aboriginal culture, which, for a long time, has not been given due respect. It is, however, a very important asset in Taiwan. So I chose the plywood, a very humble material that every household will be using for decoration, as the canvas to symbolize the inconspicuous, but very important aboriginal culture- it is not being respected, but we really need it- to construct the 14 Taiwanese aboriginal tribes in my mind.


賽德克族-彩虹橋 在賽德克族的傳說中,族人紋面後,死後就可以越 過彩虹橋,回到祖靈的獵場,成為一位真正的賽德 克巴萊。 不論彩虹橋是真是假,是實是幻,它都是族人通向 祖靈的橋樑。我用虛實的對照畫出有祖先守候的彩 虹橋,呼喚每個族人最終最後都能平安回家。 Sediq - Rainbow Bridge According to the Sediq legend, the tribesmen once have their faces tatooed, can cross the Rainbow Bridge after they die to return to the hunting grounds of the ancestral spirits to become a Seediq Bale (a real man) . No matter whether it is true or false, the Rainbow Bridge guides the tribesmen to the ancestral spirits. By rendering the contrast between the true and false, I drew the Rainbow Bridge guarded by the ancestors who are calling each tribesman return home safely.


鄒族-阿里山的姑娘 在我的腦海裡,一直存有著一張阿里山鄒族少女的照 片,她的確美如水。於是我把圖騰畫出水樣的弧度, 再用族人的聖花-木蔛蘭花當「眼睛」,庇佑著族人 、陪伴著大家。

Tsou - Alishan girls In my mind, there is always a photo picture of a Tsou teenage girl. She is truly beautiful like water. So I drew the totem with water-like curves and used wood orchid, the tribe's holy flower as the "eye" to bless the tribesmen and accompany everyone.


阿美族-美麗的花環 阿美族喜歡唱歌跳舞,祭典時脖子上會戴著五彩繽紛 的花環。於是我用「人」字打底〈阿美族自稱 Pangcah,是「人」的意思〉,每個「人」都手牽著 手唱著歌、跳著舞。 Ami - beautiful garlands The Ami tribepeople like to sing and dance. They wear colorful garlands around necks in festivals will around his neck. So I used the Chinese character “ 人”which means people or person (“pangcah” in Ami language ) as the base of the picture to signify that the “people" are holding hands, singing and dancing.


邵族-那美好的白鹿 在邵族的傳說裡,因為族人追逐白鹿翻過阿里山,發現現在 的日月潭可以帶給族人更多豐衣足食。因此,我用白鹿代表 邵族-白色的純真、粉紅色的純潔、生生不息的努力傳遞, 有如祖靈指引著的語言。 Thao – The beautiful white deer? The Thao legend has it that the tribesmen, after chasing the white deer, passed over Alishan and discovered the Sun Moon Lake which provided abundantly for the tribe. So, I used the white deer to represent the Thao tribe white for innocence and pink for purity-which is passed on vibrantly , like the language guided by the ancestral spirits.


噶瑪蘭族-那美好的時光 噶瑪蘭族在18世紀被迫遷離原居地-蘭陽平原,現在族人 非常稀少,多數散佈在花東地區…. 我閱讀著噶瑪蘭族的歷史,腦海中不斷出現18世紀那美好 的蘭陽平原…動物在富饒的土地上和平相處、月亮及太陽隨 時守護著族人…平安自足…. Kavalan - The good times The Kavalan tribe was evicted from its original settlement, the Lanyang plains. Now the population of the tribe is very small and the tribesmen are scattered mostly in the eastern part of Taiwan….. When I read the history of Kavalan, my mind was filled with the wonderful Lanyang plains in the 18th century. The animals lived in peace on the fertile land, the moon and the sun always guarded the tribe ... peaceful and selfsufficient.


魯凱族-百合花與族人 我用魯凱族的聖花-百合花-代表頭目。頭目是族人最 尊敬的長老,百合花只有頭目及最有榮譽的族人可以配 戴。但是有能力配戴百合花的族人也必須擔負起照顧所 以族人的使命。所以百合花如同大家的天使一般,隨時 帶給族人平安喜樂與希望。 Rukai - lilies and tribe I used,lilies,the holy flowers of Rukai to represent the chieftain who is the most respected elder of the tribe. Only the chieftain and the most honored tribesmen can wear lilies. However, the tribesmen who are qualified for lilies must assume the responsibility to take care of the tribe. So lilies are just like an angel bringing peace, joy and hope to the tribe people all the time.


撒奇萊雅族-歸向 撒奇萊雅族從17世紀到2007年被官方承認為單一族群 ,這經歷了兩三百年的漂流… 我拆解出該族的圖騰代表僅剩的族人如風中殘燭,但族人的 心卻永遠向著祖先的懷抱-堅定不搖。 Sakizaya –The turning of hearts After more than three hundred years of drifting from the 17th century to 2007, the Sakizaya tribe was officially recognized as a single ethnic group. I disassembled the tribe totem to signify remaining tribesmen as the candle in the wind, but their hearts are always turning to their fathers-immovably.


布農族-愛唱八部合音的小孩 我用C大調的C代表音樂,勾勒出布農族小孩從小就 愛唱歌,他們沉浸在彼此的合聲裡,自足快樂。而藍 、白、紅、黃是布農族圖騰的顏色。 Bunun – The children who love to sing eight part harmony I used the letter C of C major to represent music, sketching out the Bunun children’s love for singing. They are self-content and happy as they immerse in chorus. The blue, white, red and yellow are the colors of the Bunun tribe totem.

My “Photographic Pictures” Original Ideas

我拍攝:

I used

單色畫─紫色、紅色、米色金色、藍色壓克力顏料在畫布上作畫時, 趁顏料從濕到乾的過程…… 畫 筆─上面沾滿色彩或全新的刷毛。 立 燈─拍攝燈罩摺痕與牆壁的關係。 木炭粉─將烤肉用剩的木炭磨成粗細不同的粉末、混合壓克力顏料拓 在畫布上趁粉末灑下時…… 隨手倒的顏料─將水性油漆倒在畫布上趁其流動或是快乾時塗抹、刮 擦下拍攝。 手塗作品─將顏料倒在畫布上,用雙手塗畫,並微距拍攝其中作品。

Monochromes- the drying process of wet purple, red, blue, and black acrylic paints when smeared on the canvas to draw a picture. Painting brushes- fully soaked with colors or brandnew bristles Floor lamps-taking advantage of the relationship between the creases and walls Charcoal dust-the remaining barbecue charcoal is ground into powders in different granularities and mixed with the acrylic paints, and pressed on the canvas after being strewn Paints poured at will-the photo is being taken when the water-based paint poured and smeared onto the canvas is still flowing or about to dry Hand drawn works- a close-up photo is taken on the picture drawn with hands when the paints are poured on the canvas.

純粹

在還沒有創造---攝影畫---這個專有名詞前 我只是純粹拿起畫筆及壓克力顏料 把不服輸於韓國單色典藏展的傲氣 豪放在畫布上 就這樣 也不想發呆 在等待顏料乾的當下 拿起相機 快門光圈 隨意隨性 亂轉換 亂拍 直到雙手發抖發麻…… 於是我拍出了一直夢想著的──像畫的攝影作品 而這些 畫 也是我心中一直想說的話……

我跟你最像的地方1 -離人群有點遠 離海有點近 Where I’m like you the most-A little far from the crowd and somewhat near the sea.


Simply Before the proper term—Photo Painting— was created, I just simply picked up the painting brush and acrylic paint to vent on on the canvas my proud ambition of outperforming the Korean Monochrome Art . So, I didn’t want to be in a trance when waiting the paint to dry. I picked up the camera, with aperture and shutter adjusted, taking pictures randomly and frantically until my hands were shaking and my fingers went numb. Then, I got my dream work—the painting-like photographic works which truly speak my mind.

遊戲後回家的餘溫 -心情如海的湛藍 如天空的湛藍 The remanent warmth I feel when I come home after playing -My mood is azure like the sea and the sky


我拍我的畫 這其實是純粹的紫色,但我看見裡面的波光瀲豔, 閃閃自持。(左) I shoot my paintings This is actually the pure purple color, but I see the gleaming reflection of waves shinning with restraint. (left)

不起眼的美麗

在這個世代 有些人給美下了某些定義 我是不理會這些的 像23歲就得到六座葛萊美獎的愛黛兒那樣 當時尚大師被她的歌聲感動 想請她來拍雜誌時說:她胖了 點也不夠好看 愛戴兒回道:我不是模特兒 我只是位歌手 況且我代表這 世上的多數人 我的畫筆也不美麗 甚至有時又髒又硬又醜又讓人生氣 但我發現在某個放下的時刻 我錯了 它美的很 美到讓我看見 看不見的細紋 看不見的層層疊疊的顏色 看不見的光影刻痕 還聽到音符在唱歌 就像”小王子”說的:看不見的往往是最珍貴最美的……

幕後的美麗 這樣的模糊清晰 這樣的委婉慢行 是幕前不容易體會的 (右) Beauty behind the scene- such obscure clarity and such tactful slow move are not easily understood when you are before the scene (right)


Plain beauty In this generation, some people define what the “beauty” is. However, I do not care. It’s just like Adele—a twenty-three-year-old girl scooping six Grammys. A fashion stylist was touched by her voice and invited her to be her model. Yet, he said: Adele is corpulent and isn’t pretty enough. Adele replied:I am not a model but a singer. Besides, I represent most people in the world. My painting brushes are not pretty either, and sometimes they’re dirty, stiff, and ugly. And they make me—angry. But I was wrong; they were incredibly beautiful when I dropped them down at that moment. It is the beauty that makes me see the fine textures, the layering colors, the scratched marks that were once invisible. It even makes me hear the music. As the Little Prince says: “The things can’t be seen are always the most precious and beautiful.” My two painting brushes gave me a lesson ellen.c


如彩筆般醒來 速度、光影、色彩...操之在手也操之 在筆 Awakening like the brush Speeds, lights, shadows and colors are controlled by the hands and the brush.


財富在心底 如果心底有著滿滿的金絲玉縷,黑,它只 是對映而已。 The wealth in the heart If your heart is full of golden silk and jade fabric, the black is just the contrast.

咖啡館總是迷人的 我喜歡在小華的咖啡館裡曬太陽 小華的咖啡館不起眼 只有她一個人靜靜地煮著咖啡 我也一個人靜靜地在那落地窗旁 透過眼前那盞 用手揉成的紙燈 取暖

我認識了你 -我從這個燈罩外,看見燈罩內的你,走在漫漫的人海裡。 The moment I met you-From outside of the lamp cover, I saw you inside the cover walking in the multitudinous crowd.


Is it winter? A café is always charming. I love to sit in the Hua’s café enjoying the sunshine. Hua’s café is inconspicuous. She is alone brewing coffee silently. And I am beside the French windows, quietly, keeping warm through the paper lamp crumpled by hands in front of me.

These are the works adapted from that paper lamp. ellen. c

我在拍---倒油漆

倒油漆是一種悲傷 當你一次又一次的去買水泥漆 一次又一次的倒壞掉刮掉丟掉 像一把又一把的鈔票丟掉撕掉 從原本滿滿的期待 倒出去的豪放 到滿滿油漆見底後 不成功的收斂 倒油漆便成為一種修鍊

調色 構圖 容器 放置物 倒 流動 融合 觀察 拍拍拍…… 直到一種很好玩的喜極而泣的悲傷 陳雅莉 倒油漆很簡單 但要在隨機的流動中找出拍出心中 的情感很難……

人生飛舞著如同這樣的浪花枝枒 Life is wave-like


今年夏天我的迪士尼 -沒有框框、沒有規則、沒有秩序...只有屬於我的園地。 My Disneyland this summer- There are no frames, no rules, no orders……only my world.


I am photographing—pouring the paint Pouring the paint is a sorrow. When you go buying the paints again and again, scrape and throw them away in the end again and again, it’s like—tearing and throwing the money bills away again and again.

Pouring the paint becomes a patience practice when the paint is poured out with full expectation and boldness only to be disappointed when no success is gained even after the paint is used up. Colors mixing Composition Containers Objects Pouring Flow Fusion Observation Shoot…

Until I am amused by a sadness coming from the extreme joy that makes me weep.

Pouring the paint is easy but it’s difficult to photograph the deep emotions in the random flow. ellen.c

非主流的準備 -在主流裡,非主流的心要如草原那般生生不息,而熱情必 須得像洪流,隨時準備四面八方侵襲。 The preparation of non-mainstream -in the face of the mainstream, the non-mainstream must be vibrant like the prairie and passionate like the flood to be always ready for the sieges.

我這淺薄的創作時分 放在那不斷不斷面對自己的苛責裡 其實是非常深刻並巨大萬分的

My shallow and superficial moment of creation is constantly subjected to harsh self-criticism Actually it is extremely profound and tremendous

是一種痛苦 誠實面對自己 忠於自己 不粉飾的痛苦 巨大在這裡 微小也在這裡 細細地看見不完美的刻痕 細細地挖掘最簡單的純真 細細地檢視所有的矛盾衝突寧靜躍動平衡...... 是一種苦痛 非常基本的苦痛 是一種他說的置死地而後生的過程 這過程 我不斷經歷著 便成一種喜樂 陳雅莉 2012.2.12

It is a kind of pain that I honestly face myself, being true to myself without whitewashing it The pain is where both enormity and tininess are The imperfect nick is carefully spotted The simplest innocence is dug out elaborately All the contradictions, conflicts, tranquility, leaps and balance are reviewed circumspectly It is kind of pain, very radical pain A process of being faced with death and fighting to survive And I have experienced it repeatedly

For me, it has eventually become a state of bliss
