Welcome, Jabez!

abez is a 15-year-old mini horse who was recently certified as an HSBC therapy animal. Jabez and his mom Sharon volunteered for summer camp, and the kids were so excited to meet him! He was a very popular addition to the campers’ overall experience. Sharon and Jabez will continue to work with children and seniors in our community.

Senior Visits

aving to give up pet ownership can be extremely difficult, especially for those living in care facilities. Our therapy teams visit many senior centers, assisted living facilities, nursing homes and other types of facilities where people may no longer own animals. During these visits the seniors are greeted by one of our therapy dogs, and they receive lots of attention, wags and kisses.

Therapy Dog JR visits Carol at The Peninsula; Carol says those visits are the best part of her day!

Jabez wowed the kids at summer camp.

Story Time

everal Broward County libraries have partnered with the Humane Society's Animal Assisted Therapy Program to bring a certified therapy dog into the library for some special reading time with the children. This program helps children with their literacy skills in a fun, non-judgmental manner. Contact your local library to pre-register your child for this unique learning experience.
