Dear Humane Society,

M

y new name is Chiquis. I was adopted May 30th 2015 and nobody knew how old I was. My mom went to the shelter to find her future son and she found me. When they told her I might be around 8-9 and were afraid my mom would turn me down but she didn't! But they were silly. I'm around 4 years they just don't know it! I had various issues at first and a massive hernia in my belly my mom got removed. With her care and my grandpa’s I was able to be up and running on the 3rd day! I live with my mom now and I'm so spoiled! I'm always begging for some treats but mom is always giving me organic food and organic treats. Geesh mom! I even went to Peru for vacation! I never thought I'd be so lucky! They even let me in all these fancy restaurants! My mom lets me do whatever I want really but my mom raised a well behaved young boy so I don't give a hard time. She never leaves me out of site. But I do miss mom when she goes to work and every morning she leaves the radio on for me so I can relax but I guess she works so much to afford my food? All I know is that things always happen for a reason and the fact that nobody wanted me for my various health issues was worth it as I have the best mom ever! Thank you HSBC for helping find the right mom for me! Alejandra Bilbao Plantation

Hello Folks,

M

y name is Dooby(sie) (among other names I get called along the way depending on how good or bad I am).

I’m a “CHIWEENIE’’ (That’s Chihuahua mixed with Dachshund in case you were wondering). My journey began in a shelter up north; not sure how that happened or why I was put there. Well! The wonderful people at the HSBC on one of their many trips spotted me in a kennel (I think they were cleaning it at the time so it was full of water) being the dapper little fellow I am, all of 2 lbs. I wanted to make a good impression so they would pick ME. I have to say it was a bit daunting because you see I had NO fur anywhere on my body. I looked like a rat gone wrong, my little paws were all raw from paddling around in the water and these ginormous ears, plus, they probably thought I was an oldie not a good candidate but they took pity and YEAH! I was on my way to a better life. So fast forward, my age was estimated at Dooby about 5 months after checking my teeth (which I had too many) along with a few other peculiar ailments. Two days before Christmas I went to my foster home to be part of a family with other hounds all shapes sizes young & old, my fur grew back thank goodness, after lots of TLC now I am a very handsome Chiweenie and still only a mere 2 ½ lbs. I’m loving the good life in my wonderful new home, charging around like a Ninja Warrior as my Mom calls me and getting into all sorts of trouble and then looking at her with those big eyes and ears -- who can resist me?! Thank you HSBC for all your support and all you do for us Doggies & Kitty Cats. Woof Meow.
