히치콕의 현기증은 냉전 이후 복잡한 사회상을 강박관념, 집착, 혼란과 같은 인간의 복잡한 심리와 연관시켜 표현한 작품 이다. 이 영화에는 대칭적 사건들이 주기적으로 나타나고, 시간이 흐를수록 갈등 및 혼란 상태가 심화되는 모습이 나타난다. 그 래서 이 영화에서 ‘변화가 있는 반복’, ‘주기성’, ‘패턴’ 이라는 3가지 특징들을 찾을 수 있었다. 'Vertigo' of Hitchcock shows complicated social aspect involving humans indefinable sensations. Symmetric happenings occur periodically, chaotic situation intensifying as time flows.
