Batters Parrish Bangs Out 5 Base Hits: Jason Parrish did more than his part as Richmond trimmed Baltimore today at Pioneer Park. The Pioneers third baseman pounded out 5 hits to pace his team to a 17-5 thumping of the Haymakers. Jason Parrish singled in the 1st, walked in a run in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season in 33 games Parrish is batting .338 with no home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 26 times. Oporta Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits: Marcos Oporta was unstoppable, but his club, the Knickerbockers, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the Richmond Pioneers 9-8. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Oporta just shook his head after the game, saying to the BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that

wins... not the most hits." Marcos Oporta singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Flint Carter in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Oporta currently has a .357 batting average with 35 hits, 1 homers, 17 RBIs, 12 runs scored and a .406 OBP. # 1 2 3
