Sisters Steph and Pamela Katch believe in the power of aesthetics and high order to enhance the quality of one’s life experience both in the home and out in the world. “For 318 West 47th Street, our intention was to create a relaxed and tranquil antidote to the bustle of Hell’s Kitchen. We developed a smoky palette of refined tactile finishes— including glazed brick, honed Arabescato marble, oil-rubbed bronze and custom fumed and limed European oak floors. The modern interior detailing emphasizes classic materials to speak to the authentic ‘old New York’ nature of the neighborhood in a way that feels fresh and luxurious for today.” Katch I.D. Interiors specializes in luxury residential interior design and decoration. The firm is known for creating tailored serene homes that are at once refined, informal and welcoming. Their interiors are built up through a focus on elegant proportion, a rich palette of materials, and harmonious selection of modern and antique furnishings unique to each client. In addition to their interiors, the Katch sisters have also designed an innovative collection of original furniture and accessories which, when introduced in 2009, immediately caught the attention of interior designers and the press alike. Katch I.D.’s work has been published in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Interior Design, Manhattan, Dwell and Remodelista. The firm is based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
