Extended circa 1796
Harold Macmillan (Conservative) 1894-1986 (In office 1957-1963)
Photo : Prime Minister’s Office 10 Downing Street
Pictured (left) with President Kennedy
The card on the left reminds us that it was Men who built Parliament. The one on the right caricatures suffragists as hysterical and unfeminine.
Photo : Don Pinder
John Bull’s Umbrella Poster, Suffrage Atelier 1912
Ref 7007 Votes for Women
Known as ‘Supermac’, he presided over an age of affluence and in 1957 he told the nation that they had ‘never had it so good’. However, the final years of his premiership were marred by the Vassall and Profumo scandals.
The cabinet room also serves as a library to which it is customary for outgoing Prime Ministers to donate. The Prime Minister usually chooses one of the adjoining rooms as his personal office.
A classic anti-suffrage argument was that married women had no need of a vote - their husband’s vote guaranteed sufficient ‘protection’ of their political self-expression. John Bull was often used in WSPU propoganda.

CUSTOM CHOICE
tailor-made just for you
We are pleased to be able to offer our customers a variety of options for producing 'customised' Playing Card Packs. A unique pack of customised playing cards can be a wonderful way to promote a site specific project, a new exhibition, or a special event launch, or regular promotional gifts. It is also a LOW COST method of promotion which does NOT mean a commitment to a large initial stock. If you would like to promote your site in this way then we would be very happy to work with you to produce your own special pack. Our custom playing card packs are made in Derbyshire by ourselves using FSC board. Print runs are LOW - our minimum first print run is 96 packs of cards. Repeat order quantities in multiples of 48. If you would like to have a custom pack of playing cards produced then we would need to receive your images and logo and instructions. Please email us initially with your enquiry and we will send instructions on the entire procedure together with a quotation. IT IS REALLY SIMPLE! We are able to offer a variety of options: Option 1 (Page 25) You can choose to take one of our stock titles and ask for a personalised tuckbox and playing card. For example, if your shop is located in a Castle we are able to feature a picture of your castle in the Castles pack of cards and also on the front of the tuckbox. Option 2 (Page 26) If your site is visited by nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts you could choose to have a pack with 54 images. Using our library of images we can edit a special collection for you which contains species of flora and fauna typically found in your area. Option 3 (Page 27, 28, 29) A fully customised pack featuring your own images for all cards, card back and tuckbox. Option 4 (Page 30) You can feature your own photographic images of your particular region of the country on the court cards (Ace, King, Queen, Jack) of each suit and the Jokers. The remainder of the pack would be conventional playing cards. Option 5 (Page 31) A conventional pack of playing cards with a personalised card back and tuckbox. 24

® Compact Colouring Sets An original, fun way of colouring!
PICCOLORI® is a unique way of colouring!
Colour according to your ability and produce a work of art which is your very own. Piccolori® sets contain twentyfour cards, each with a different image to colour, 12 high quality coloured pencils (natural FSC Cedar wood), a graphite pencil, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, extra practice cards, a colour illustration guide and a leaflet with helpful hints, all presented Piccolori Box size in a compact box, ideal for travel 110mm x 145mm x 32mm or home.
