To make the cabbage soup for the Cabbage Soup Diet you must first cut up 6 Large Green Onions, 2 Green Peppers, 1 Bunch of Celery, and one head of cabbage. The vegetables must then be added to a pot and water should be added until they are covered. A package of onion soup mix and a bouillon cube should then be added to the pot. The soup should then be brought to a boil and should be able to boil for 10 minutes. The heat should then be reduced and the ingredients should be allowed to simmer at a low heat until all of the vegetables are tender. In order for the Cabbage Soup Diet to be fully effective it is important for the person on the diet to only consume certain things for a week. On day one the person should only eat fruits and the soup. They cannot eat anything else and should also avoid bananas. On the second day the person can eat all of the vegetables they want and as much of the cabbage soup as they desire. On day three the person can eat both fruits and veggies and all of the cabbage soup they want. They should not eat any starchy vegetables such as potatoes on day three. On day four they can have the person can only have the cabbage soup, bananas, and skim milk. They are limited to only eight bananas but are allowed all of the cabbage soup and skim milk they desire. On day fie the person can have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and up to six tomatoes that are fresh along with the soup. They must drink at least 8 glasses of water on day five. On day six they are allowed to have to have the same thing as day five except they can have vegetables instead of tomatoes. On the last day they can eat the soup, brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice, and vegetables. The person needs to eat whenever they are hungry for the diet to truly work and for someone to see how to lose weight.
