It was a serendipitous find, according to the new residents of a 1926 John Staub-designed home located in the historically intact and period-significant neighborhood of Broadacres located near Rice University. The house really found them, so say the couple who requested anonymity. Previously living in the Memorial area, today’s owners – of what is known as the C. A former realtor of theirs happened to have placed the couple on the company’s mailing list. But, when the realtor’s postcard arrived spotlighting the Broadacres house located across town as being for sale, “she” promptly ditched it. And then “he,” a self-described Staub fan, retrieved it – after spotting the architect’s name headlining the postcard topping the trash. The rest, as they say, is history.
