BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 5K run/walk entirely within Lancaster Park, through the disc golf course and on the paved loop around the main park area. This is a USATF Certified course MD12011JS. John G. Awards to first overall male and female finishers, and top 3 males and females in the following age groups: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,

The Springfield, Illinois Juneteenth Celebration is a two day event held every 3rd Saturday and Sunday of June. The celebration is held at Comer Cox Park located at South Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Springfield, Illinois 62703. The times each day are 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Activities include the annual kick-off parade down M.L.King Drive. Activities include the Marla Jean Hunter Memorial Basketball tournament,Double dutch contest and tennis clinic. Stage events include live Gospel and R&B performances, as well as praise dancers, Kareoke, and open stage.
