African-Americans in the Missouri City/Fort Bend area, while celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation. One of the key facets of the MCJCF celebration is their Community Service Awards Gala. This event was initiated and established in 2006 to bring recognition to area community leaders. According to the MCJCF these leaders are citizens who exemplify conviction, purpose and enthusiasm as responsible citizens of this community.

Friday, June 19, 2015 Missouri City, Texas

At 6:00 P.M. on Friday, June

19, 2015 the MCJCF “Family Funday in the Park” will take place in the Hunters Glen Park located at 1340 Independence in Missouri City, Texas. The carnival opens at 6:00 P.M. with the movie beginning at dusk. DETAILS: The admission is FREE and is open to the general public. Attendees who attend this event can expect a full slate of events and activities planned with the family in mind for this day in the park. The carnival comes jammed-packed with various interactive games, rides and entertainment. At dusk, a featured film selected with family friendly content will be shown.

Friday, June 19, 2015 Missouri City, Texas

At 6:00 P.M. on Friday, June 19, 2015 the “It Takes a Village” Art Project reception will begin with a viewing set to take place at 7:00 P.M. at the Missouri City Civic Center located at 1522 Texas Parkway in Missouri City, Texas. DETAILS: The Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation will be teaming up with renown Fiber Artist Carolyn Crump for it’s first annual Missouri City "It Takes A Village" Art Project exhibition. Carolyn Crump will be working with several organizations and professional artist to execute a community art exhibition as part of the foundation's "Legacy" themed celebration marking the 150th of freedom for blacks in Texas. The "It Takes A Village" Art Project is for people of all ages!
