Three Rivers is the park district that includes the park closest to my current home.
I love parks. I love having them nearby. I love having the time to utilize them. It feels like such freedom and therapy to be able to walk, run, sit and think in the park. It’s like a gift of time with no agenda. Provides me with such clarity and grounding in a busy life and city. You can hum or sing along to your earbuds and dance like noone is watching. You can be quiet and listen to birds or see if you can hear an animal coming. You can donate trees to the park and watch them grow and feel like it’s your extended backyard. It’s a community to be a part of. A safer and rewarding one. Everyone is equal in the park. You don’t feel like it’s a place of judgment or keeping up with the Joneses. You’re free to be you, do your thing, daydream, cry, celebrate, re-calibrate and have enough space and brain space to think about your next step in life. I’m the third generation in my family to enjoy this park
