ADULT LEARNING CENTER The Hostos Adult Learning Center seeks to help adults obtain the necessary skills and/or credentials to transition to college or employment. For men and women who have not completed high school and/or have limited English language skills, program services provide students with a chance to build basic skills, strengthen their academic foundation, and/or prepare for the high school equivalency exam in an engaging learning environment. We invite you to join the thousands of others who have enjoyed the supportive atmosphere and academic excellence that have made the ALC such a special place. COURSE OFFERINGS


· GED® Preparation students must achieve a · Must be 18 years of age or older to apply · · ·

minimum score 9.0 in reading and 6.0 in math on the placement exam* Basic Education – students must achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in reading on the placement exam* Math English for Speakers of Other Languages.

We would like to invite you to join the Young Men’s Initiative (YMI) IMPACT Peer Mentoring Project at the Adult Learning Center. The Young Men’s Initiative (YMI) IMPACT Peer Mentoring Project at the Adult Learning Center is structured to improve GED ® pass rates, increase college enrollment & retention, and to provide peer mentoring college support for black and Latino males from 18 to 25 years of age. Young females are also welcome to apply. Must be enrolled in ALC GED® class in order to be eligible for services.
