PINLOCK® FOG-RESISTANT INNER VISOR Supplied according to segment. Thanks to the patented adjusting system, the stretch of the Pinlock® inner visor can be adjusted, acting from the exterior of the visor, without the necessity of removing. The Full Silicone Border (FSB), adopted under licence from Pinlock®, allows first of all for an increase in the size of the air chamber located between the helmet exterior and interior, thus further reducing the risk of fogging; secondly, it reduces the risk of scratches to the visor.

VPS SUNSCREEN Moulded out of LEXAN™*, it is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treated and offers UV protection up to 400 nanometres. It can be easily removed for maintenance and cleaning and is fully-adjustable. The activation system (patented) allows for the automatic retraction of the sunscreen in a standby position, thus simplifying emergency manoeuvres required to quickly obtain the maximum level of visibility offered by the visor. * LEXAN TM IS A TRADEMARK OF SABIC

LINER WITH AN INNOVATIVE NET CONSTRUCTION (available only on N100-5 PLUS) The liner, with an innovative net construction, further aids the movement of air around the upper part of the rider’s head. The N100-5 PLUS is also characterised by the particular shape of the cheek pads, which provide further protection against draughts.

MOULDED LINING FOR THE INNER CHEEK PADS IN POLYSTYRENE The helmet has a moulded lining for the internal cheek pads in polystyrene which allows for a more precise fitting of the fabric inner cheek pads. This lining, which gives the product a quality finish, also provides the housing for the earphones of the N-Com communication system.

ROTAZIONE MENTONIERA CON TRAIETTORIA ELLITTICA (brevettato) Il movimento di rotazione della mentoniera con traiettoria ellittica permette di contenere la sezione frontale del casco, quando la mentoniera è in posizione aperta. DUAL ACTION (brevettato) Esclusivo sistema di apertura della mentoniera che, posizionato al centro della stessa, ne consente l’apertura con una sola mano. Il meccanismo a doppia azione riduce il rischio di aperture accidentali: solo dopo avere azionato la prima leva di sblocco (o sicura) è, infatti, possibile sollevare la mentoniera, agendo sulla seconda leva.

CHIN GUARD ROTATION WITH ELLIPTICAL TRAJECTORY (patented) The chin guard rotation movement with elliptical trajectory makes it possible to keep the total size of the helmet’s front section to a minimum, when the chin guard is open. The “seal” effect is consequently highly reduced and riding comfort is still guaranteed, even when the chin guard is lifted.

DUAL ACTION (patented) Exclusive DUAL ACTION chin guard opening system. Positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening. The dual action opening mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening: the chin guard can be opened only operating the first release lever (or safety lock) and then activating the second lever.

Combined with the “AirBooster Technology” upper ventilation system, it distributes air in the upper part of the rider’s head. The shape of the wind protector increases the wearability of the helmet and protects from irritating air infiltrations in the chin area.

MICROLOCK2 (patented) RETENTION SYSTEM It is a patented double lever retention system with micrometric adjustment. It consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system.

OMOLOGAZIONE P/J Il casco risulta omologato nella doppia configurazione P/J, in quanto presenta una mentoniera protettiva amovibile che supera i test omologativi previsti dalla normativa UN/ECE per i caschi integrali. VISIERA ULTRAWIDE L’ampia superficie della visiera, resistente al graffio (S/R – Scratch Resistant), rende possibile una maggiore visuale, anche laterale, garantendo in tal modo massimo comfort di guida ed aumentando la sicurezza attiva. Thanks to the patented adjusting system, the stretch of the Pinlock® inner visor can be adjusted, acting from the exterior of the visor, without the necessity of removing. The Full Silicone Border (FSB), adopted under licence from Pinlock®, allows first of all for an increase in the size of the air chamber located between the helmet exterior and interior, thus further reducing the risk of fogging; secondly, it reduces the risk of scratches to the visor..

Furthermore, the peak is characterised by a system which coordinates its movement with the visor. NERS NOLAN EMERGENCY RELEASE SYSTEM (patent pending) This system, patent pending, allows emergency teams to remove the cheek pads from the helmet while it is still being worn by the motorcyclist by simply pulling the red tapes attached to the front of the pads themselves.

EYEWEAR ADAPTIVE Sistema pensato per il comfort di coloro che indossano occhiali. In modo rapido e semplice, consente di ricavare nel guanciale uno spazio per le astine degli occhiali. È reversibile, in quanto possibile riportare i guanciali nella configurazione iniziale. EYEWEAR ADAPTIVE This system has been designed for the comfort of eyeglass wearers. In a quick and easy way, it allows to obtain a space in the cheek pads for the glasses temples. It is reversible, so the cheek pads can be returned to the initial configuration. To further facilitate the washing, the cheek pads are equipped with expanded foam inner padding which can be taken out from the fabric covering.

MICROLOCK2 (brevettato) Disponibile a seconda della versione di prodotto. E’ un sistema di ritenzione con regolazione micrometrica, a doppia leva, brevettato. E’ composto da una leva di apertura ergonomica in materiale termoplastico ed una seconda, dentata e di tenuta, in alluminio. La leva dentata libera la fascetta micrometrica ed è, pertanto, possibile aprire il sottogola solo dopo che la leva di apertura ha effettuato una rotazione molto ampia. Tale accorgimento riduce la possibilità di aperture involontarie.

MICROLOCK2 (patented) Availability according to the product version. It is a patented double lever retention system with micrometric adjustment. It consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system.

RACETRACK AERODYNAMIC SPOILER (RAS) E’ un’appendice aerodinamica sviluppata con il contributo dei piloti ufficiali Nolan e X-lite, nonché frutto di studi CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) e di verifiche in galleria del vento. La conformazione della sua parte superiore riduce la resistenza aerodinamica del casco e ne migliora la stabilità alle alte velocità in posizione di guida sotto carena, soprattutto in continuità con l’eventuale appendice posteriore presente sulla tuta del pilota; la conformazione delle sue parti laterali migliora, invece, la stabilità del casco alle alte velocità in uscita dal cupolino. ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) Qualora il RAS venga rimosso dal casco, devono essere montate in sua sostituzione le alette superiore e laterali, disponibili nella scatola. Queste vanno a costituire l’ASD (Adjustable Stability Device), ovvero uno spoiler aerodinamico dotato di profilo regolabile. ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) When the RAS is removed from the helmet, the upper and side winglets provided in the box must be fitted. These winglets are part of the Adjustable Stability Device (ASD), an aerodynamic spoiler with adjustable profile. The ASD optimize the aerodynamic performance of the helmet when riding, improving it in terms of stability at high speeds, and assure the expulsion of hot air from inside the helmet. The profile can be adjusted in two configurations for the adaptation of the aerodynamics of the helmet according to various riding positions and styles.

RACETRACK AERODYNAMIC SPOILER (RAS) This is an aerodynamic spoiler developed in collaboration with the official Nolan and X-lite riders, and is the result of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies and wind tunnel trials. The shape of its upper part reduces the aerodynamic resistance of the helmet and improves stability at high speeds in a headdown position, above all when providing a continuous line with the hump on the back of the rider’s suit (when present). Furthermore, the shape of the lateral parts improves helmet stability at high speeds in the air flow from the headlight fairing. It can be removed from the helmet according to the conditions of use and/ or riding situations, for example in the presence of a passenger.

SISTEMA DI VENTILAZIONE RAF (RACING AIR FLOW) È composto da: - prese aria superiori due aperture localizzate sotto il frontino catturano e canalizzano l’aria, direzionandola senza dispersioni nella zona superiore della testa del pilota; -p rese aria frontali due aperture localizzate sotto il frontino catturano e canalizzano l’aria, grazie anche al contributo dei convogliatori laterali, direzionandola senza dispersioni nella zona frontale della testa del pilota. Altre due aperture sono presenti nella zona della fronte, in corrispondenza della guarnizione di bordo dell’apertura oblò; -p resa aria mentoniera dotata di un filtro esterno fisso (in rete metallica) e di un secondo filtro interno amovibile, consente la ventilazione, filtrandone il contenuto, nella zona della bocca; - e strattori aria localizzati sulla parte superiore del casco, sul suo retro ed in corrispondenza del bordo base posteriore e sulle parti laterali del casco, permettono l’eliminazione dell’aria calda e viziata, garantendo un comfort ottimale all’interno del casco.

FRONTINO CON PUNTALE REGOLABILE Il frontino può essere regolato in diverse posizioni, mediante rotazione verso l’alto o verso il basso. È, inoltre, attrezzato con un puntale regolabile in tre posizioni. PEAK WITH AN ADJUSTABLE EXTENDED ADDITIONAL PEAK The peak can be regulated to various positions by rotating it upwards or downwards. It is also fitted with an extended peak which is adjustable to three positions.

RAF (RACING AIR FLOW) This is composed of: - upper air intakes two openings positioned under the peak direct air, without dispersion, to the upperhead area; - front air intakes thanks also to the contribution of the side channels, two openings positioned under the peak direct air, without dispersion, to the front of the head. Two additional openings are located in the forehead area; - a chin guard air intake fitted with a fixed external filter (in metal netting) and a second removable inner filter, it ensures ventilation to the mouth area; - air extractors located on the upper part of the helmet, on its back and in line with the rear base edge and sideways on the helmet, they allow for the expulsion of hot and stale air, thus guaranteeing maximum comfort inside the helmet.

CHEEK PADS To further facilitate the washing, the cheek pads are equipped with expanded foam inner padding which can be taken out from the fabric covering.

EYEWEAR ADAPTIVE This system has been designed for the comfort of eyeglass wearers. In a quick and easy way, it allows to obtain a space in the cheek pads for the glasses temples. It is reversible, so the cheek pads can be returned to the initial configuration.

OMOLOGAZIONE P/J Il casco risulta omologato nella doppia configurazione P/J, in quanto presenta una mentoniera protettiva amovibile (completa di presa d’aria) che supera i test omologativi previsti dalla normativa UN/ECE per i caschi integrali. VISIERA ULTRAWIDE L’ampia superficie della visiera, resistente al graffio (S/R – Scratch Resistant), rende possibile una maggiore visuale, anche laterale, garantendo in tal modo massimo comfort di guida ed aumentando la sicurezza attiva. È altresì in grado di proteggere il volto del pilota da acqua e vento, garantendo comunque un’adeguata circolazione dell’aria all’interno del casco, qualora venga utilizzato in configurazione jet. ULTRAWIDE VISOR The large surface of the S/R (Scratch Resistant) visor makes it possible to have a broader view, also lateral, thus highly increasing active safety. The Full Silicone Border (FSB), adopted under licence from Pinlock®, allows first of all for an increase in the size of the air chamber located between the helmet exterior and interior, thus further reducing the risk of fogging; secondly, it reduces the risk of scratches to the visor.

MICROLOCK2 (patented) tIt is a patented double lever retention system with micrometric adjustment. It consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system.

Thanks to the exclusive patented adjusting system adopted by the Nolangroup, the stretch of the Pinlock® inner visor can be adjusted, operating from the outside of the visor and making removal of the inner visor unnecessary.

DUAL ACTION (patented) Exclusive (patented) DUAL ACTION chin guard opening system. Positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening. The dual action opening mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening: the chin guard can be opened only operating the first release lever (or safety lock) and then activating the second lever.

LA STORIA La divisione N-Com – Nolan Communication System - nasce nel 2005. L’azienda decide di sviluppare un sistema di comunicazione specifico per i caschi Nolan, X-lite e Grex completamente integrato e conforme alle normative vigenti, preservando estetica e comfort dei vari modelli. Gli obiettivi vengono perseguiti con successo: a partire dal 2006, l’azienda presenta una gamma modulare di kit per la comunicazione. L’intuizione si rivela da subito vincente.

THE STORY The N-Com – Nolan Communication System division was established in 2005. The company decided to develop a communication system made specically for Nolan, X-lite and Grex helmets, which was completely integrated and which conformed to regulations in force, while preserving the style and the comfort of the various models. These objectives were successfully achieved: in 2006, the company began producing a modular range of communication kits. The decision proved to be an immediate success.
