The Carnival procession will be a riot of colour, music and dance as hundreds of performers leave the South Inch, travelling along Scott St, High St, George St and Mill St before ending up in front of the Concert Hall ready for...

Join-in Maracatu extravaganza

Maracatu is Brazilian drumming - join-in with the Brazilian chants and songs.

Join-In Capoeira

If you took part in the school workshops get yourself right in front of the stage!

3.15pm – 3.30pm Carnival of Soul led by David Hughes Dance Company.

An honest and touching exploration of many dance styles with celebration and community at its heart.

3.45pm – 4pm

Hip Hop Shakespeare Live: Perth youth project

led by The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company A modern take on Shakespeare through Hip Hop music and dance, led by MOBO award winner Akala.

4.15pm – 4.30pm JGN Dance Attic performance

Exciting street dance as you’ve never seen it before!

4.45pm – 5pm

Grassroots Theatre Company

Traditional African song and dance by this group from Zimbabwe.

5.15pm – 5.30pm Vale of Atholl Pipe Band

A performance from the youth section of this award-winning pipe band.

5.40pm – 5.55pm Rhythm Wave

Perth’s own samba band Rhythm Wave perform.

5.55pm – 6pm

Finale

The Birthday Carnival ends with a bang – literally!

GANNOCHY AUDITORIUM: FREE 2pm – 6pm Drop-in Circus Skill workshops (every 30 mins, on the hour and half hour)

Try your hand at juggling, plate spinning and other exciting circus tricks, led by Theatre Modo.

The Flamingo Club

Since the 1930’s, the Flamingo Club has been the hottest ticket in town for the coolest jazz and latin beats. Performed by musicians from Perth’s Adult Resource Centres. In partnership with Horsecross Arts and Drake Music Scotland.
