Welcome From Hopewell Charolais
We welcome you to Hopewell Charolais. As we reflect back on 2022, we cant help but think about the exciting new beginnings.

These are exciting times for the cattle industry as we see record prices with those tan and silver steers topping most sales last fall. We feel confident that the bulls we have on offer will go out, get your cows bred, calve easy, and bring you that Charolais Premium at the Sale barn.
We feel strongly that this years group of bulls is one of the best Hopewell has raised in the last 10 years. It is great to see our hard work pay off as we set a goal many years ago to produce honest, hard-working cattle. This years bull pen is a great representation of those goals.
We understand the importance of family, and realize that we couldnt do what we do without the support and love from the people around us. We want to express our gratitude to Tim and Sherlin, and Harrison and Crysta for always being there for us.

If you have any questions or would like to book a tour, feel free to give Kody a call!

Hopewell History

Andrew and Claire Meier of Tramping Lake, SK began Hopewell Charolais in the year of 1974. They were also known as Andrew Meier and Sons, as Andrew and his sons Pat and Tim were never too far when it came to building the herd. It was always made important that the Meier family work together to build this program. If you were to have asked Grandma Claire how Hopewell aquired their name she wouldve replied “Because when we were just getting started, we hoped it would go well.” And I guess you could say we are still hoping it goes well!

Shortly after Grandpa Andrew passed away in 1994, Tim & Sherlin Meier and their young family took over the program. They continued building the herd with specifially chosen genetics to keep their herd maternally strong as well as be able to provide their customers with functioning and genetically proven purebred bulls at the Annual Lloyd Bull sale. Unfortunatley due to unforseen circumstances Tim and his family decided to completely disperse the herd in 2008, parting with the program. Of course, dispersing is never an easy decision, but the family felt it was the best decision moving forward.

Kody had moved back to the farm in 2012, and decided to buy back into the purebred charolais industry purchasing his first two females, SKW Salt 65Z and LAE 267Z. These old girls are still producing top of the pen progeny for Hopewell.

Kody wanted to continue the legacy that Grandpa Andrew had started and kept the name and tattoo. Although the herd was completely dispersed in 2008, we are still lucky enough to find the Hopewell Charolais tattoo, AMB (a.k.a. Andrew Meier Brand), if we dive deep into the pedigrees on some of our strong producing cows. This catalog is dedicated to the memory of Grandma Claire and Grandpa Andrew.

Reference Sires
HOPEWELL Strada 48H
Long story short, we purchased Main 647D and just a few lots later her son Main 45G topped the charmain bull sale going to Triple C Charolais in Manitoba. A few months later she laid down and gave us a full brother, “Strada”. With the help of Steve Quinton we ended up selling him to Alta Genetics where they continue to market his semen world wide! The Strada calves blew us away with their growth, length and depth of rib. They all carry themselves with that Strada neck extension and smooth shoulder! These are the kind we strive to raise, calving ease with performance.

DYV FOOTPRINTS Crimsontide 15G
A couple years ago we stopped in at Travis Foots to tour his bull pen when this thick assed, hairy, tank of a bull walked by. We looked down at his feet and instantly decided he was the bull we needed. “Tide” as we call him, stamps his calves as carbon copies of himself, you won’t find bulls with more hair and red meat on them.

LT Patriot 4004 PLD
A really good friend of ours toured the LT ranch and when I asked him about the cow herd he replied “I love those Patriot daughters”. So when we had the opportunity to get a semen pack we jumped all over it. We are just into the second calf crop and honestly they make calving fun, they hit the ground and they’re off to the races never looking back. The growth, the length, the muscle, that smooth front. What more could a cattlemen ask for!
LT Authority 7229
We’ve been using Authority for a few years now and the word that comes to mind when anyone asks about his progeny is “consistency”. There’s no guessing with Authority, the calves come easy with great vigour and hair, the calves always wean off well and don’t get me started about the females, I honestly won’t shut up about them. The first few groups of sons have been well received by our customers with great reviews. If you buy an authority son you’ll be sleeping easy during calving!
HOPEWELL Swiss 3K
Hopewell Sired

A big congratulations to Gracie Parsons on winning Grand champion steer at the Lacombe
club show with her steer Silverado.

HOPEWELL Lincoln 4K
One of the most complete bulls we’ve ever raised. Lincoln has a stacked pedigree starting on the top side with LT Patriot, you cant miss the great things that bull has done for the LT program and the charolais industry. For Lincoln its not just being a Patriot son that makes him special. Lincoln’s dam, Main 647D, has consistently brought her best to the table, which shows to be evident in her past progeny.

Lincoln is truly one of the cleanest made bulls youll find, with the distincitive Patriot head and neck extension that carrys down into his shoulders. Hes one of the longest spined bulls with a nice hip and muscle shape through the hindquarter.
*Retaining semen interest for in-herd use*
