We are a team. We decide together. Don’t let your feelings be hurt if your idea isn’t accepted The team’s only responsibility toward your idea is to listen
Some people are more nervous about speaking than others When they do speak, let’s listen. If you talk over them, they may never speak again.
Sometimes, the team doesn’t understand your position. You have one chance to push back on a topic that you are in favor of
We are a Team (say it in the room)
Have the courage to give kickback in the room. It is cowardly to express in a side meeting that you didn’t agree with a decision or that you don’t agree with a direction that the team is going forward with. Be a part of the team and express your thoughts in the room.
Engage. By glancing at your smartphone or smartwatch, you are communicating to everyone in the room that the person communicating to you digitally is more important than the people in the room. Focus and contribute to the conversation at hand.
