russ mills Born: 1971 Exeter, Devon. UK I graduated from Leeds Met University in 1995 after completing a BA in Graphic Art and Design, specialising in Experimental Film and Animation. After finding gainful employment in various non-creative institutions, I went back to basics and began working with a pen, a pencil and a computer. I spent almost 20 years crafting skills, absorbing influences from every facet of visual culture, and archiving found objects and ephemera to substantiate his work he has worked as a freelance illustrator with numerous clients in publishing and entertainment, more recently pursuing the more traditional gallery/exhibitive path with solo shows in London and in Bristol as well as group exhibits in the U.S. Numerous sell out print releases and coverage worldwide. My current work is a clash of styles from classical to pop surrealism, focusing predominantly on the human form through abstracting elements from nature and the animal kingdom. In this, I cover subjects such as superficiality and isolation which are progressing into more socio-political expressions. http://www.byroglyphics.com

teresa orazio As a child never loses sight of personal expression through drawing. Teresa did a training course in Rome, where she studied at the European Institute of Design, and later worked in advertising agencies such as McCann Erickson. After four years in Rome, she moved to Milan and worked with other agencies such as Zetalab studio, collaborated in projects for Rizzoli, and made illustrations for Rolling Stone Magazine, Italy. In Milan she got close to the world of street art - an activity she’s been developing and refining in the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where she has lived for a year. In Amsterdam she also collaborates with graphic design studios like Droog design, and takes part in the artistic circles. Each day she draws messages she’s observed in the streets of Amsterdam. http://www.doppiorizzonte.com

CONSTANTINE VRAZIOTIS Constantine Vraziotis was born in Greece in 1975. He studied fashion design and first gained recognition in the field of fashion illustration. He has created illustrations for some of the world’s leading fashion magazines and works with publishing houses in Australia and Tokyo. His works have been included in Taschen’s “Ιllustration Now”, Volume 2 - the edition that presents the world’s best graphic designers - as well as in Martin Dawber’s “Big Book of Contemporary Illustration”. He is rapidly becoming one of the most visibly emerging urban artists in Greece. Constantine’s work revolves around the enigmatic “Coco” - his central heroine and muse. An elusive, erotic figure, drawn out of the surreal world of fashion, Coco has a sinister beauty, a macabre eroticism and a permanent pout. Like the artist himself, she retains close ties with the fashion world and, being a bit of a fashion icon herself, she struts around sporting Riccardo Tisci’s latest accessories for Givenchy. Constantine’s art combines traditional techniques with digital media and his references draw from various sources, most notably from fashion and Byzantine iconography (Byzantine painting and especially the Macedonian Iconography School classify as his

main influences). His extremely recognizable artistic signature can most accurately be described as macabre pop and surrealistic. He recently released “Mademoiselle Coco” -a limited edition of hand finished prints- for the AP by artAZ print series, and is currently working on creating casual chic-wear for a clothing company in Athens as well as frantically preparing for his next shows. Constantine Vraziotis is internationally represented by artAZ. www.artaz.gr

KARO AKPOKIERE Karo Akpokiere is an artist with an insatiable appetite for drawing and a deep interest in how the drawings he creates can be applied to different surfaces in a way that make them both accessible and inspiring at once. His drawings are created using traditional and/ or digital processes. They are indicative of his desire to combine different ‘cultural’ elements in order to create art that is universally appealing and also reflective of his interests in textile motifs, graffiti aesthetics, t-shirt graphics, sneakers, advertising, character design and geometry. As his interests grow, so do the materials he has to create drawings from. He presently lives in Lagos, Nigeria, where hedraws daily and manages www.seekproject.com and www.theseekproject.wordpress.com www.seekproject.com www.theseekproject.wordpress.com

CARNE GRIFFITHS Carne Griffiths’ artwork is born from a love of drawing and the journey of creating an image on the page. Working primarily with calligraphy ink, graphite and liquids such as tea brandy, vodka and whisky, he draws and then manipulates the drawn line. After graduating from Maidstone college of art, Carne served an apprenticeship and worked as a gold wire embroidery designer for 12 years, hence floral pattern, repetition and flow play a large part in his work. Carne’s images explore both human and floral forms, figuratively and in an abstract sense. He is fascinated by the flow of line and the ‘invisible lines’ that connect us to the natural world.

52

These may be considered lines of energy or spiritual connections between ourselves and our surroundings, and his work is often an emotional response to images and situations encountered in daily life. These daily images are recorded in a dream-like sense onto the page where physical boundaries are no longer important. Carne’s work takes us on a journey of escapism, often focusing on scenes of awe and wonderment. They offer a sense of abandonment to the artist and to the viewer an invitation to share and explore this inner realm. www.carnegriffiths.com

princess MIA Princess M (Princess Mia) is a new freelance artist, aged only 17, who creates her drawings with watercolor paint and a pen to ink her work. As a child, M found it difficult to express her emotions through words. Using that as an inspiration, she creates art that aims to express an emotion but also give a feeling a visual look. All of her works contain a certain meaning or story to them that enables others to feel and wonder about the emotions which are being expressed. Most of her work is inspired by the inner worlds of humans which come out through emotions, imagination and dreams. Other sources of inspiration include trees, veins, the human body, darkness, and music. At the moment Princess M is a full-time high school student who is currently showcasing her works via social networks. This way she hopes to gain more recognition as an artist, and wishes to give courage to others who go through trouble in expressing themselves. She plans to sell her original art work online in the coming year. http://www.wix.com/princess_miaxo/artofprincessm#!  http://www.facebook.com/pages/P-r-i-nc-e-s-s-M/146000638834843?sk=wall
