elia fernàndez Born in 1988 in Madrid. In 2007 I started to study styles in fashion school in Madrid. My wish was to design film and theatre costumes but during the period at fashion school I discovered my true vocation, illustration. In 2008 I went to Design School ‘Arte 10’ where I started to study illustration. There I learn important things about illustration, creative processes and project creation. I got an extensive knowledge of natural drawing with nude models, design and colour fundaments, animation, traditional techniques and the creation of books. In 2012 I did a finals project called ‘Six Illustrated Realities’ mixing photography, illustration and body art, for this I received an Honors Graduate. I participated in two collective exhibitions in galleries in Madrid. This year, in September, I inaugurated an individual exhibition in gallery ‘La Intrusa’, Madrid and I participated in a collective exhibition ARTEX in EPO, The Hague. At present I live in The Hague working as a freelance illustrator for various companies, magazines, galleries and personal commissions. The Underground magazine in Den Haag, Institute Mythgard in USA, the Spanish newspaper El País and the Nucleus Gallery in L.A. among others.

martin silva Martin was Born in Uruguay from an intriguing mix of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese blood. He spent a big part of his childhood drawing, painting and creating. As a kid he was fascinated by colours and the beauty of nature. He grew up in Florida, a city that provided him with an natural affinity for both the radiance of urban life and the peacefulness of rural surroundings. The rustic greens and blues of the Uruguayan countryside evoke a balance in him that makes him see and feel life in a sensitive yet realistic way. From an early age on he got affected by the work of some great painters; Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso,Torres Garcia, Miro, Klimt etc. Watching their work made him wonder what they wanted to express and he started to imagine himself being an artist later. He started to paint with brushes and acrylics, choosing colours, thoughts, feelings and images of daily life and of the unconscious world. Mixing all of this together he is able to create an unique narrative and abstract style. Many of his paintings are set in differing landscapes, where he shows a clear eye for architecture and geometry.   Being a bit of a dreamer he learned that traveling is one of the best ways to enrich your mind and feel the cultural exchange, to learn about yourself and others. Already more than 10 years ago he started a journey to the USA, choosing New York as his homestead. The multicultural city that never sleeps inspired him to experiment using textures, colours and different media on his canvases. Here he started to have solo exhibitions and and also took part in different art projects. Nowadays he is living in Amsterdam, a city that clearly is influencing his work adding a lot of new colours and vibrations into his work. In the last couple of years in Amsterdam he got the opportunity to show his work several times. Martin is a board member of Tara Projects Amsterdam, a foundation that brings artists and the public together.

anna taratiel The ever-evolving art of Anna Taratiel is an ongoing battle between the organic and the static. The abstract and colorful visual mental landscapes that constitute her vast body of work entwine, bulge and hug contours of sharp edges and industrial compositions. Working with a broad range of simple materials, such as fabrics, wood, cardboard, strings and paint, her drawings, collages, and installations create an intriguing visual confusion between the two-dimensional qualities of paintings, and the three-dimensional attributes of objects. Anna’s work is not so much about abstraction, but about creating the structures and layers of an almost tactile fantasy world.

marie mainguy I’m a freelance illustrator living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. When I was just a kid, I used to gaze for hours at illustrations in my parents’ magazines. I knew exactly that I wanted to “make things like that” when I grew up. I studied graphic design and I worked in this field for a couple of years but in my head I was aiming for illustration. For a long while, I didn’t consider myself a “real” illustrator because I thought I should be drawing or doodling relentlessly. I was amazed at other illustrators’ work. I used to think that I was less talented than them, until the day I became aware that I wasn’t listening to my inner self but was rather trying to imitate those I admired so much. The moment I realized that I had my very own style, I began to really enjoy drawing like when I was a child. That was six years ago. That’s when I decided to have a go at freelance illustration. And I also figured out my passion: making illustrations that won’t leave anyone unmoved. Mostly, I do editorial illustration. I truly enjoy creating concepts that are simple but effective. Every editorial illustration is a new challenge, a wonderful task: capturing the spirit of a text with solely one image. Like a hunter, I set a trap to capture the reader’s attention – I love it! When I start a new project, I like thinking that the illustration I’m about to draw will be the best I’ll ever do. It’s exciting to see what ideas I’ll come up with… I’m forever amazed at what’s lurking inside my head!
