二十世紀（1901年至1983年）香港上海匯豐銀行100元鈔票的演變史 歡迎蒞臨第六屆香港國際錢幣聯合展銷會！這次是我們舉辦的第二場公眾展覽，希望藉此向大眾推廣錢幣 收藏的樂趣，並讓公眾近距離欣賞錢幣界珍罕精品。 是次展覽主題為20世紀匯豐銀行100元鈔票的演變史，亦展出其中國分行所印刷的紙鈔，讓觀眾更了解銀 行在1920年代的業務範圍。 100元是香港特別行政區常用的鈔票之一，色調選用中國文化中最吉祥的顏色—紅色。紅色代表五行中的 「火」，象徵著喜慶及好運，更是婚禮和中國新年等吉祥場合中的主流色彩，在這些場合，誰沒有聽說過 紅色「利是」或「紅包」的傳統？ 有說2019將是全球經濟放緩的一年，我們認為展覽以幸運色彩為題將會 非常適合！ 過去一世紀，100元紙鈔已經推出過多款設計，每個新版都經歷設計、定稿、印刷等多個繁複步驟，我們將 為大家介紹每個版別之不同設計階段，希望觀眾能更深刻領會紙鈔收藏的精妙之處，請細心欣賞。

The Evolution of the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) $100 over the 20th Century (1901 to 1983) HKCS welcomes you to our sixth show and second exhibition. One of our most foremost aims in organising the show is to promote our fascinating hobby and to allow the general public to view superb items at close quarters.

The topic of this exhibition is the evolution of the HSBC $100 over the 20th century. Notes from other branches in China are also shown to illustrate breadth of the Bank’s business in the 1920’s.

The $100 note is one of the most commonly used notes in the HKSAR and printed in red, the most auspicious colour in Chinese culture. The colour red represents ‘fire’ in the five elements and symbolises happiness and good fortune. It is the overwhelming colour seen in auspicious events such as weddings and the Chinese New Year. Who hasn’t heard of the red ‘lai see’ or ‘hong bao’ traditions during those two occasions? As 2019 is looking to be a difficult year for the global economy we think it is appropriate to select a lucky colour note for exhibition!

The design for the $100 note has changed multiple times over the past one hundred years and each new series is a complicated affair with many stages in design and printing. We try to show as many stages as we can for each series so that the viewer can better appreciate what a fascinating hobby banknote collecting can be. We sincerely hope you will enjoy the exhibits.
